'Nyasa' is an ancient yogic ritual which literally means "the act of placing." In this Yoga Nidra meditation, we will first become aware of the energy world which occupies more than 99% of space in our Universe. We will then place loving energy in the form of healing white light in the energy field around our body. This act of Nyasa will help you relax deeply and get quality sleep.

A very warm welcome to you.

I am your guide Saqib and in this meditation I will guide you through the practice of Nyasa yoga nidra which will help us in having quality deep sleep.

Nyasa literally means placement and in the yogic tradition the practice of Nyasa involves the act of providing prana or the vital life force to different parts of our body.

Now we all are surrounded by energy,

In fact we are energy itself.

The universe comprises of more than 99% energy and less than 1% matter.

But we have always been conditioned to focus only on matter and most of us don't notice the energy that is all around us and within us.

There is also a field of energy surrounding our body.

So in this meditation we will first open our awareness to the energy field around our body and sense it and then fill that energy field with the loving and soothing energy of the universe that will help relax our mind and body.

As I am your sleep guide I will be channeling the loving energy of the universe and sending it to you because I love you and the universe loves you.

So now I would request you to check if you can shift into a more relaxed posture.

Check if you can make your body at least 20% more relaxed.

Keep your eyes open for now,

I will prompt you to close them soon.

Now just be aware of your external surroundings.

Notice the space that you are in.

Feel the weight of your body.

Feel the air on your skin.

The smell in the air.

And listen to the sounds around you.

Notice what is there in your line of sight.

Is it the roof or a wall?

Scan the entire roof or wall or whatever is there in your line of sight.

If it is too dark and you can't see anything,

Just gaze into the darkness.

And now bring your focus to a single point on the roof or the wall or any single point in the darkness in the line of your sight.

And just gaze at this point for some time.

Let your gaze be a soft case,

Don't strain your eyes.

Now gradually close your eyes.

Before we journey inwards,

Let's together set our sankalpa or intention for having quality sleep.

I will say the words of sankalpa and either you can repeat after me in your heart or just listen to my words,

It's up to you.

I give deep rest and relaxation to my mind and my body.

I give deep rest and relaxation to my mind and my body.

I give deep rest and relaxation to my mind and my body.

Now we will start with the practice of nyasa.

Be aware of this space above your head.

Place your awareness in this space just above your head.

Now imagine a beam of golden white light which is the loving energy of the universe pouring on top of your head and filling that space above your head.

And now feel your scalp relaxing.

And now be aware of the space around your face and forehead,

Around your temples and around the back of your head.

And now imagine that golden white light filling the space around your face and the back of your head.

And now feel your face and the back of your head relaxing.

And now be aware of the space around your neck.

Imagine that loving light filling this space around your neck.

And now feel your neck relaxing.

Be aware of the space above your shoulders.

Imagine the light filling the space above your shoulders.

And feel your shoulders relaxing.

And now be aware of the space around your chest and your upper back.

Imagine that golden loving light filling the space around your chest and around your upper back.

And feel your chest and your upper back relaxing.

And now be aware of the space around both your arms.

And now be aware of the space around both your arms.

Imagine the light filling the space around your arms.

And feel your arms relaxing.

Be aware of the space around your abdomen and lower back.

Let the space around your abdomen and lower back fill with that loving light.

And feel your abdomen and lower back relaxing.

And now feel the space around your pelvis.

Imagine the golden loving light filling the space around your pelvis.

And feel your pelvis relaxing.

And now be aware of the space around your thighs.

Fill the space around your thighs with that light.

And feel your thighs relaxing.

Be aware of the space around your knees.

Fill the space around your knees with that loving light.

And feel your knees relaxing.

Be aware of the space around your calves.

Imagine the light filling the space around your calves.

And feel your calves relaxing.

Be aware of the space around your feet.

Let the space around your feet fill with light.

And feel your feet relaxing.

Now your whole body is engulfed with this loving energy.

This loving energy surrounding your body is your guardian angel.

It is giving you a warm embrace of love and is giving you a hug full of love.

So feel that loving hug by your guardian angel.

Feel it in your body.

And now it's time to surrender.

I will be reciting a short prayer to surrender ourselves to our guardian angel and the universe.

And you can just relax and listen to me.

Dear universe,

I know that you have my back.

I know that you are protecting me all along.

I know that you love me.

I just want to let you know that I love you too with all my heart.

I surrender myself to you.

I surrender my body.

I surrender my mind.

I surrender my thoughts.

I surrender my awareness.

I surrender my consciousness.

And I surrender my soul to you.

I surrender myself to you completely.

Now that I have surrendered myself to you,

Take care of me and form a layer of protection around me with your light.

Kiss me and love me.

I feel so happy,

Safe and relaxed in your embrace.

My mind has relaxed.

My body has relaxed.

My soul has relaxed.

Now we will continue with the meditation.

The gateway to the world of sleep is through the heart.

So now we will journey from our mind to our heart and into a place of silence and stillness where we will rest,

Relax and sleep deeply.

For this we will move our awareness from the mind to the throat to the heart and into that place of silence and stillness.

So bring your awareness now at the center of your forehead.

Gradually move your awareness downwards and place your awareness at your throat at the center of your neck.

And now move your awareness further downwards and place it at the center of your chest.

From here we will journey inwards into a place of silence,

A place of stillness,

A place of pure being.

This place is deep within us.

Descend down to that place as I guide you.

I will be counting back from 10 to 1 and as I do so with each count imagine and feel as if you are descending one step into that place of silence,

Stillness and sleep.

Once you reach that place of pure being just relax there by simply listening to the music in the background for some time as you go deeper and deeper into the world of sleep.

Let's begin.
