Hi and welcome to today's daily insight.
My name is Saqib and I am your meditation guide.
Let me start by giving you a brief on today's theme which is preparing for an energetic day because it is better to know the technique first so that the meditation is more effective.
Energy is all around us.
It is the backbone of the universe.
The very small and microscopic particles of which a universe is made of,
Like electrons and atoms,
Are in constant movement and vibration and are full of energy.
Light which is generated by our sun and other stars in the cosmos is full of energy itself.
So in this meditation,
We will harness this energy of the universe and provide it to our mind and our body.
Now you might be thinking that how can we use our mind to harness this energy?
And the answer is that whatever our mind puts our attention to,
We provide energy to it.
The energy in the body follows the mind.
Wherever the attention of our mind goes in the body,
The energy moves there.
So let me now tell you how I have structured this meditation.
In the first part of the meditation,
We will set our sankalpa or intention for the day and we will also calm our mind.
Just by simply declaring our sankalpa for the day,
We provide energy to our body.
You might have noticed that when you are strong on your intent,
Automatically you feel energetic.
However,
A busy mind which is full of thoughts drains out our energy and we feel tired.
So calming down the mind is also an important part of this meditation.
In the second part of the meditation,
We will move the energy through certain parts of our body which will help us building up that energy for the day.
So now I would request you to sit in a comfortable position with your back straight.
Just make sure that your back is not bent and neither it is too stiff and upright.
A straight and relaxed spine is best for meditation.
Now gradually close your eyes.
Feel the presence of your surroundings,
The air in your room,
The smell in the air,
The air on your skin,
The weight of your body on the chair,
Mattress or floor and listen to the sounds around you.
Let's set our sankalpa or intention now.
I will say the words of sankalpa three times and you can repeat after me silently in your heart.
I provide energy to my mind and my body.
I provide energy to my mind and my body.
I provide energy to my mind and my body.
Let's clear our mind now.
Notice if there are any thoughts in your mind.
Imagine these thoughts as bubbles,
Like soap bubbles,
Rising in front of you,
With each thought representing one bubble.
In your imagination,
Burst or pop these bubbles of thoughts one by one with a slight touch of your finger,
Just in your imagination.
Now that you have cleared your mind,
Think that why do you want to build energy in your mind and your body?
Is there a goal that you want to achieve today or do you just want to feel good and energetic throughout the day?
Imagine now that you have the answer,
Imagine and visualize yourself either completing that goal or just visualize yourself being energetic,
Joyous and blissful.
Feel that energy in your body that you will have throughout the day.
And now it's time to build up energy in our body.
We will be inhaling white light to the various energy centers in our body.
So place your hands on your thighs,
With your palms touching your thighs.
As you inhale,
Imagine white light passing through your nose,
Then through your upper body and finally down into your thighs,
At the point where your hands are placed.
And as you exhale,
You can simply breathe out air through your mouth.
No need to visualize anything during your exhalation,
As I will be breathing with you,
You can synchronize your breathing with me if you wish.
Now take a deep inhalation of white light.
Feel the light filling your thighs and exhale.
And now place both your hands just below your belly,
With your palms touching your lower belly.
And breathe in white light to your lower belly.
And exhale.
Place your hands now just below your ribs to your solar plexus.
And breathe in light to that area.
Now place your hands on your chest.
And breathe in light to your chest.
And exhale.
And now place your hands at the two sides of your neck,
With your palms touching the sides of your neck.
And breathe in light to your neck.
And exhale.
Place your hands now on your eyes.
And breathe in white light into your face.
And exhale.
And finally place your hands on your forehead.
And breathe in light to your forehead.
And exhale.
Now imagine a ring of bright white light emanating from the earth and encircling your feet.
We will move this ring upwards and we will scan our body.
This ring of light will provide energy to each and every part of the body.
You can expand and contract the size of this ring,
Depending upon the size of the body part through which it passes.
Now visualize this ring moving upwards from your feet to your knees and feel the energy it provides to the lower part of your leg.
Now move it from your knees to your pelvis,
Below your lower abdomen.
Now move it upwards from your pelvis to your neck,
Scanning and providing energy to your body.
Now from your neck to the top of your head and finally place it at the top of your head.
Bring your attention to your breathing now.
Feel the presence of your surroundings,
The air in your room,
The smell in the air,
The air on your skin.
The weight of your body on the chair,
Mattress or floor.
And listen to the sounds around you.
Now wiggle your toes and move your fingers and gradually open your eyes.
Your mind and body are energetic now and at the same time your mind is calm as well.
As I said before that by simply declaring your sankalpa,
You are providing energy to your mind and body.
So go ahead and declare your intention for the day in the discussion forum.
