Hello dear ones.
And welcome to tonight's meditation.
Or if you wake during the night and can't return to sleep.
Just closing your eyes now.
And let your whole body soften.
Into the surface beneath you.
Take three slow,
Deep breaths.
Making each one a little longer than the last.
As your breath returns to normal.
With each exhale.
Feel any tension leaving your body.
Now imagine you are inside a small stone cottage.
High up in the mountains.
Outside the night is deep and dark.
The air is cold and crisp.
It in here.
Everything is warm.
There is a fire in the fireplace.
With glowing amber embers at its heart.
And soft orange flames.
And move slowly.
As if they too are almost asleep.
The light in the room comes only from the fire.
A warm golden light.
That moves very gently.
Painting the walls with soft shadows.
That breathe slowly in and out.
You are lying down.
Covered by a heavy blanket.
It holds you.
With a gentle pressure.
That makes your whole body feel settled.
Beneath you,
The bed is deep and soft.
You can feel it cradling each part of your body.
Let yourself feel that.
The support beneath you.
The warmth of the room.
The cottage is quiet.
Outside,
Far away.
There may be wind.
That's in here.
There is only the soft crackle of the fire.
And the occasional tick of the wood settling.
They are sounds of safety.
There is a window beside you.
And through it,
You can just make out the shapes of mountains against the sky.
Duh.
Lodge and utterly still.
They have stood there for thousands of years.
They will stand there long after tonight is over.
Nothing disturbs the mountains.
And you are here.
Inside.
Warm and held.
Let your eyes feel heavy.
Let your thoughts become soft and slow.
That is nothing you need to do.
The fire will keep you warm.
The mountains will keep watch over you.
You can let go completely.
Let yourself go.
