Feel your own energy and what is around you.
A guided practice to help you feel your own emotional baseline.
And then gently notice how people,
Animals,
Places and situations shift it.
So that you can begin trusting that SNIH signal instead of overriding it.
Find a position where your body can be still without needing to hold itself.
And let your eyes close or soften towards the floor in front of you.
There is nothing.
To get right here.
You are simply going to practice something your body already knows.
How to do.
You're going to learn to listen to it on purpose.
So take a breath in.
And let it go.
And slower than it came in.
Let's practice that one more time.
Take a breath in.
And when you breathe out,
Make it longer this time.
Notice your nervous system settling.
So let's do one more.
Deep breath in.
And all the way out.
So let your attention drop down.
Out of your thoughts.
And into the weight of your body.
Feel where you're making contact with the chair.
The floor.
In the earth beneath you.
Like a contact holds you.
You don't have to hold yourself here right now.
And this is where we begin.
Not with anyone else's energy,
With yours.
Bring your attention to your chest,
To the space around your heart.
You don't need to do anything here,
Only notice.
Is there warmth?
Or coolness.
Is there openness?
Or a kind of bracing.
Heaviness or lightness.
And there is no right answer.
You're just taking a reading.
The way you check the temperature outside before deciding what to wear.
Notice your shoulders.
Are they?
Are they close to your ears?
Or are they settled down in your back?
Notice your jaw.
Soft.
Or holding something.
Notice your stomach.
Your breath.
The general weather system moving through you right now,
Today,
In this exact moment.
How is everything adding up and feeling?
Sensing.
This is your baseline for today.
This is what you feel like before anyone else walks into the room today.
And take a moment to commit it to memory,
Not in words,
In feelings.
This is the sensation you'll come back to again and again as your home base.
Today.
I invite you gently to bring to mind someone who feels easy to be near.
It doesn't need to be dramatic.
Maybe it's a friend whose voice settles you.
Maybe it's an animal,
A horse,
A dog.
Who has never once made you feel like you had to perform for them.
Let them come into your awareness,
Not as a memory you're thinking about,
But as a presence you are feeling.
Notice what happens in your body.
Maybe your breath drops lower.
Maybe your shoulders ease further down.
Maybe there's a kind of expansion,
Like the room got a little bigger There's no need to explain it,
Just notice it.
And let it teach you something.
This is what resonates,
Feels like,
In your body.
Not just as an idea,
But as a sensation.
And just stay here for a few breaths.
Let your body fully register this feeling,
So it has something to compare against later.
So now I invite you.
Just as gently,
And only for a moment,
To bring to mind a person,
A place or a situation that has felt different.
Not a memory to relive,
Just enough to notice the shift.
Just let it come up as a feeling.
And notice your body.
Maybe your jaw tightens slightly.
Maybe your chest closes a little.
Maybe your breath gets shorter or higher without you choosing.
You don't need to know why.
You don't need to fix it or understand it.
Or even keep thinking about it.
Simply invited to notice that your body responds differently to the energy.
And that this response was not and is never random.
Its information.
Is being accurate your entire life,
Long before you had language for it.
And now just let it go,
Let the image dissolve the way a breath dissolves into the air.
And come back to your heart.
Come back to your breath.
Come back to the weight of your body against the earth.
And feel your own baseline again.
The one you found at the very beginning.
Notice,
It's still here.
Steady,
Underneath everything,
Waiting for you to return to it.
It's yours.
No one else's.
It was never meant to be filtered out.
Argued with.
Or take Talked Out off.
It always is meant to be trusted.
And from here on,
You don't need a formal practice to use this.
You only need to pause.
Connect with your baseline.
Before you walk into a room.
Before you answer a call.
Before you step onto someone's land or into someone's home.
Take a breath.
And ask your body a single quiet question.
What do I feel now?
Not what should I feel now.
What do I actually feel?
Let your body answer first and let your mind catch up later.
Before you open your eyes,
Place your hand over your heart if that feels right for you.
Feel the steadiness there,
The quiet,
Electric.
Circuit that has been running this whole time,
Asking for nothing,
Just simply being yours.
You were never too sensitive.
You were simply paying attention.
Carry this with you,
Trust it gently today,
And see what shows up for you.
When you are ready,
Let your eyes open.
And welcome back.
And welcome home.
