Inspired from my visit to the sacred site of Uluru in the outback of Central Australia, this is a piece of poetry that can be used as a guided visualization to deepen your meditative experience. By connecting to the simple and sacred breath, the invitation is to expand into the vastness of who you really are.

Hi,

This is Johnson Chong,

The author of Sage Sapien from Karma to Dharma.

And I am currently in the outback in the Northern Territory in Central Australia,

Visiting the sacred site of Uluru.

And I was really inspired by the energy of the land here to write a poem that you can use as an audio visualization or meditation.

When you are ready,

Set yourself up either in a seated position,

Comfortably on a chair or in a cushion on the floor,

Or you might lay down on your back.

The Red Earth Today is the day to not do anything.

Purposeful purposelessness.

Even surrender to fully receive.

Today is the day to conquer distractions and listen to the whispers of the land.

Today is the day to follow the call home to Uluru.

I can hear her gentle murmurs pulling me toward her bosom,

The Earth Mother,

As if this invisible umbilical cord,

Older than time and space,

Draws me to her tender embrace.

I walk through a vast expanse of red earth,

Feeling my feet merge into the warmth of the sand beneath.

The unforgiving sun overhead fuels the fire in my belly instead of the obvious choice of rest and shade.

As I get closer and closer,

I can see the black streaks down her steep walls where waterfalls once gushed unapologetically.

Now all that remains is the smell of burnt wood from the trees in the bush and the cracks in the dry red earth mirroring the cracks between the dome-faced mountains.

The timelessness of this very experience reminds me that the original people of this land had no word for time.

The past and the future did not exist.

Only the beauty of now.

A burst of wind blows across the valley and tickles its way down my spine,

Electrifying my entire body into awakeness.

And the ancient tale of a rainbow serpent resting in the foundations of this great mountain suddenly feels more and more real.

The ancients speak of Wanambi,

The rainbow serpent as the harbinger of humanity's inner truth.

Where we as a global family put aside our old hurts and limiting stories we keep telling ourselves so that we may evolve into our fullest potential that is nothing but the total commitment to truth,

Love,

And freedom.

Not relative truth,

The kind of truth you tell with the expectation of alleviating guilt.

Pure truth that comes from standing in our power but expecting nothing in return.

Nor is it the blockbuster love of Hollywood romance.

It's the kind of love that includes the totality of birth and death,

The splendor and ruthless ugliness of life.

Unconditional,

Unbound love that can only come from dropping your veil of illusions.

And neither is it the freedom associated with government and justice but the freedom of divine spiritual connection.

Connection to a force greater than our limited perception of ourselves.

The freedom to create anything we want to create knowing that we are eternally plugged into the source of our creator.

This is the kind of commitment to truth,

Love,

And freedom that the rainbow serpent represents.

As I breathe all this in,

I stop to wonder if the black lizards crawling along the ancient red cliffs are feeling the vibrations of the rainbow serpent below.

Do the falcons circling overhead perceive something I cannot perceive?

Perhaps their flight pattern of figure eights in the clouds is signaling me to drop into the vastness of existence without mind.

And so I continue deepening my breath and anchor my body into the hot red earth.

And all I know in this moment is that there is a simplicity to be honored in the pure act of receiving.

Continue deepening the breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.

A sigh of great relief.

Rest with the totality of all your senses so that you may transcend your senses.

See,

Hear,

Feel,

And sense the great support of the red earth underneath.

With each breath,

Drop even deeper into her embrace.

Spend the next three minutes connecting to a timeless space that is accessible only in the depths of your heart.

Connecting only to the simplicity of this sacred breath.

Ahhhh.

You You You You You You Slowly in your own time your own way without rushing You You Bring your hands to prayer in front of the heart and bow down with humility to the beauty of all that is And I bow down to you with deep gratitude that you are caring for yourself By honoring your sacred breath and the sacred earth below Thank you for listening until next time.

I wish you a beautiful day

That was so lovely!!! Thank you!!! Hope you were able to go to the sacred watering hole at Kata Tjuta. That was my favorite place out there & I felt the incredible sacredness of that location! I think that will be the most sacred place I will ever visit!
