In your belly,
Right now,
There's a fire.
Your digestive fire.
I know it can be hard to wrap our heads around that idea,
But that fire has always been there.
And you know it's not burning bright when you notice freaking gas,
Bloating and just overall digestive issues.
And there's a good chance that when your fire is not burning bright,
That there's gas,
Bloating and digestion,
While your confidence,
Self-esteem and ambition to pursue your goals might not be as strong as well.
So today's practice is about making that fire stronger,
Hotter and burning brighter.
You might be surprised just how quick you can kindle your digestive fire with just a few minutes of mindfulness.
And to get the best out of this practice,
I'd even suggest to make yourself a nice hot cup of fresh ginger,
Lemon and honey tea after.
Now let's begin.
Take a deep breath in and out.
Trying to relax the body as much as we can for now.
Letting your belly drop.
And I know it might feel uncomfortable to let it drop,
But no one is watching and we must feel comfortable for this practice to work.
Good.
Now bring your attention to the space behind your belly button.
Notice the sensations and even the thoughts that come up.
Can you feel or hear sounds coming from your stomach?
Cramps or just an overall feeling of heaviness in your stomach?
Or as if something just feels stuck,
Stagnant and even a little cold?
Observe without judgment.
And thank your body for letting you know.
Now imagine a very small burning bonfire behind your belly button.
That's your Agni,
Your digestive fire.
And it's always there for you.
Always digesting every single thing that you come in contact with.
Food,
Thoughts,
Emotions,
Environment and trauma.
Sometimes your Agni just needs a little push.
And perhaps just listening to the sound of a bonfire can help your digestive fire come back online.
Let your attention move to the cracking sound of the bonfire and notice the sensations and your belly as a result.
Perhaps you might feel some movement in your stomach.
As your digestive system is reactivating,
Burning off all the heaviness and the stagnation,
Leaving you feeling lighter in your stomach.
Take a moment or so to drop down in your belly and feel the fire build up behind your belly button.
If you think about something else,
Don't worry about it.
Your subconscious mind still hears the sound and can still help increase your fire.
I will leave you for the next minute or so.
I'll watch the time.
Now can you feel the warmth behind your belly button?
Can you feel that your Agni or digestive fire is a little bigger,
Hotter and stronger?
If there is an urge to release gas or a burp,
Make sure that you don't block these natural urges throughout the day.
Your Agni is just trying to push this excess air out so it can burn bigger and brighter.
Now take a deep breath in,
Filling up your lungs and slowly waking up the body as you exhale out.
Take all the time you need to get back to this moment,
In this room,
Right here,
Right now.
You did an amazing job today and I am so proud of you.
Only when you're ready,
You can gently open your eyes.
