Spiritual Fortune

The fortune is getting to know yourself and you can only do that when you do meditation, and you look inside because the outside doesn't tell you very much. What does “spiritual” mean? I am a soul. And inside the soul are all my characteristics. All my energy patterns. Good and not so good! If I get to know how I think and use my energy well, that is a huge fortune. Fortune is wealth.
What is wealth? Wealth is understanding. This wisdom will keep you safe.

I'm shanti good evening and welcome to soul to soul and this is Rose from inner space in Glasgow and we're going to talk about spiritual fortune so we're looking at fortune is getting to know yourself it's great fortune to know the self and you can only do that when you do meditation because it's only when you do meditation that you can look inside because looking outside only tells you about your world around you it doesn't tell you very much about yourself we might think we've been used to thinking it does but it doesn't so let's look and see that what does the word spiritual mean actually it means I am a spirit I am a soul and inside the self the soul are all my characteristics and so unless I know that I'm a soul the energy I can't look inside and see what's in there because I would never think to do that I just go along with what's happening outside so inside myself are all my energy patterns there's the good but also there's the not so good but that's what's been making me up as a person so if I can get to know how I think and I can use my energy well that is such a fortune that is such a wonder it is actually incredible that I can get to see myself how I am who I am and fortune is actually wealth so what kind of wealth again it's not physical wealth what is wealth wealth is understanding is the wealth of wisdom and this wisdom will keep us safe so meditation that's if I take that time to sit still and look at my moods and my feelings and what's happening to me and how I feel about it all so meditation and self-observation is a very healthy investment and the return I will receive for that kind of an investment will be great so when we look at fortune in a physical way again it can also refer to something that is bestowed on you by a rich relative or a benefactor so we receive an inheritance of some kind makes us very happy but if I go beyond that is there anyone who can give me the gift of wisdom courage love and peace happiness can anyone give me that gift can think about that do we know anyone who's so good-natured that they can give me this kind of gift can fortune be shared there's another question can we share fortune if I have such wonderful fortune can I distribute my spiritual fortune so the good news is that if I share my fortune will it decrease or increase so the good news is it must increase if I share it because all these energies are habits and the more I use a habit the stronger it becomes so if I share my fortune will it decrease question mark or increase so if I share peace calm stillness with someone if I share light-heartedness with someone if I share kindness with someone love with someone if I tell someone about how I'm earning my fortune my fortune will increase it has to increase because I'm using it so the more we use it the more it increases it doesn't decrease so what would happen if someone earns a great fortune but doesn't appreciate it can someone lose their fortune I would say that if they have a fortune if they have actually earned some spiritual fortune through understanding peace and love the wealth of information kindness understanding practicing meditation self-observation and has invested even a little no you cannot lose it but if you don't appreciate it you cannot increase it it's just like a physical fortune if I invest it it can grow but if I just waste it it won't grow and if you receive something really valuable but you ignore it you chase after things that are worthless you prefer the worthless would that be called wise so this wisdom that's good part of our fortune where would that go what would happen there so I have to ask myself what is really valuable what is real fortune so I really need to practice stillness and meditation understand the value of myself because unless I understand the value of myself I won't be able to see the value of having those qualities in myself and the wonder that I can use them and distribute them to others and the difference that using those beautiful qualities will be making in my life and in my mind my mind will feel relaxed when it's practicing peace and stillness my mind will have a feeling of safety when it feels it has understanding my mind will have feeling of happiness when I feel lightness freshness in my approach to life and my mind will feel cherished and loved when when I practice love and understand that I have love but I need wisdom to be able to see the unlimited so those qualities are unlimited qualities they're inside the self I don't go and buy them out of a shop I have to see them within the self and if I tell myself again I am a soul I'm a spiritual being this means I have wisdom courage love and peace I'm a spiritual being in a physical world so this changes everything I'm surrounded by physical things all everything I need is around me but I do have to think about the selfless energy and the bestower of that energy the divine God the source and so it is most important to learn to be careful with my fortune not to waste anything and that is my thoughts my words my deeds my time don't waste them in anger and aggression jealousy greed fear anxiety and disturbance don't waste my time in any of these energies and they'll be there because we did say I look at myself and I see the good and the not so good so in meditation I focus and focus on the good and understand the not so good and make decisions for myself to not go there because it it only created upset inside the self and so it's also important to learn to be careful and not to waste anything and to have self-respect because self-respect is my greatest fortune my greatest fortune to begin to respect myself for my kindness my love my understanding my peace my love for harmony so let nothing and no one diminish your self-worth because inside will be all these qualities of kindness sweetness caring understanding friendship smiling helpful know yourself as a peaceful soul you've spoken a lot about spiritual fortune in terms of wealth and wisdom and value which is really helpful and another way people think of fortune as well sometimes is luck and destiny so could you say something about that how much is created and how much is just destiny do you think things are just predestined or do you think it's random no I think that there is destiny and there is luck because anyone who's listening to this right now I mean there's millions of people on the planet and there's only a few people will be listening to something like this and I would say whoever's listening it's their destiny because so why is it their destiny because inside they do have a capacity for all these beautiful feelings we've been speaking about and that capacity is ready to just open up and be there and even if you look back at your recent past where you can see fairly clearly you can see that you do have a tendency to forgive to be caring to be helpful to stay as calm as possible to understand etc to be kind you you have these qualities but you haven't really noted them because it was quite normal but now where are they coming from they're coming from the energy of the soul and they were just below the surface so that's why it's not luck it is your destiny I think the point she made as well about value it's really interesting it's so easy to see and it makes sense it's perfect logic to value the self to feel the fortune the wonder who I am the soul and yet on a day to day I'm just reflecting on how easy it is to lose that value for the self with even the slightest word or look or incident and you realize how much you take your sense of worth and your sense of good fortune from others from what happens in life well we're usually part of a community of some kind and we've been on a journey and we've learned many ways of how to survive you might say and we don't like people to oppose us or not like us or to not let us do something or to put things in our path in our way but the spiritual code of conduct says that this has been happening to us for a long time we've not been able to get our own way we've not been able to be who we are and there'd be a someone tougher or stronger who would put us down and so the spiritual code of conduct says that now when you understand the obstacle comes to enable you to overcome that obstacle with your inner power inner strengths and just with a smile on your face to be undaunted and move yourself forward and what happens you'll have moved forward through that obstacle and lift that particular obstacle behind you it's very positive and then you'll feel yourself actually stronger like-hearted your qualities will feel stronger in you but again that was just one obstacle so we've got many obstacles where people have put us down and made us unhappy and they're going to come up again and again and it's when I remember I'm the spiritual being and I have all these incredible qualities and this time I'm going to keep myself full of self-respect and remain buoyant and smile even as people attempt to hurt me and again I'll move through that obstacle and I'll feel light-hearted and wow feeling nothing quite like the feeling of success but it's success in the feelings of well-being that come from self-respect if you can do that over and over again every time you do that you're filling yourself with your own awareness of who you are good qualities then you can understand and really help others encourage others to move themselves an obstacle comes to help you to move forward not to don't you they don't did us before and we allowed ourselves to shrivel and bow down and give up and think whoa dreadful this is dreadful so don't don't be put down keep your head up stay buoyant I guess in doing that you create your own fortune you create an incredible fortune and then other people seeing you do that would get inspired yeah yeah yeah they think what's happened here she used to be scared to me she's not scared to me any longer what's happened here then they might inquire and then they might begin to copy you in some way the one who oppressed you might start to copy you and you also mentioned as well the best or you said that God or the divine is like a bestow of energy so could you explain a bit about that because it's like you're saying I create my own fortune through understanding myself my energy using obstacles as a way to move forward so how does God fit into it well on my own and on my journey on my own with physical beings I didn't know any of this and just as a starting point there's a bigger story than I can tell you in a few minutes but just as a starting point I would say that when I sit in meditation and do my best to understand this being of light that's full of all these energies that I have lost and I sit and focused on that beautiful fresh kindly loving energy ocean of peace ocean of love then some of that energy touches and awakens those energies in me just the same as when people see you they can be inspired to wonder what you're doing and maybe want to do some meditation the same as you're doing but this is the bigger picture that one is the ocean of peace ocean of love ocean of happiness and that one is non physical on physical loving being so it sounds like I could have a go on my own and create a bit of a fortune but I could go a lot faster further like a booster if I make a connection yeah you're more likely to stay inspired if you have a connection with the divine on your own you'll kind of give up when obstacles come I would say every now and again you see oh gosh huh I can't see I can't see how this is going to work you you would doubt but if you get filled with a very strong energy power you could think I can do this I can stay cheerful here okay so thank you all for listening I hope that was useful for you and so now we're going to do a few minutes of Raja yoga meditation so we focus our energy on the point in the center of our forehead we keep our eyes open can a fortune be shared can I share my fortune can the soul lose its fortune if it's your fortune you cannot lose it you can stop increasing it but you cannot lose that which you have and what is really valuable and what is real fortune real fortune is knowing the self I am a spiritual being a beautiful spiritual energy peaceful and calm helpful and understanding and light-hearted kindly happy I am the soul I begin to have the wisdom to not be upset by obstacles that come on to my path obstacles have always come on to my path but we accepted that that was something terrible that's happened again and again and we spent forever trying to think how could I finish this what could I do about this how can I fix this and we never could but it just disappeared and it disappeared leaving us feeling powerless and sad depleted fearful upset but now I can teach myself not to do this not to be worried depleted and upset but to say I'm a being of peace calm and steady and unshakable and I just keep my mind very firm on who I am tell myself teach myself I will go through this I will go through this with energy and enthusiasm and I'll know that I did it and I will feel success happiness I am a being of light so and I remember the one above the supreme soul the bodiless one the one who has all the energies that I have missed that I have lost within myself everything that belongs to me is coming from that one he has everything peace love kindness happiness Ohali
