If someone is Frosty, their heart is frozen. Their attitude becomes hard they are unable to co-operate. An easy way to develop feelings of love is to create an internal chant of gratitude. I'm Shanti and welcome to Soul to Soul.
And so tonight we're going to look at Don't Be Frosty.
I've got Frosty next to me here.
Frosty my friend.
So don't be frosty.
And so let's see what we're going to say about being frosty.
Frosty weather in the winter.
This is the festive season.
So we're now going to look at how to make warm up the frost.
And there's only one way actually to truly do this.
It's with the power of love.
Power of love is the foundation for all positive change.
A life without love is actually frozen.
We might wonder what that actually means.
It means we can't really feel properly.
We get daunted.
We can't respond in the way we would like to,
To situations.
We feel helpless and we'd like to do something,
But we can't do it.
Or we feel alone and lonely and feel there's nothing much happening around me.
So we feel actually frozen and individually if we have a look at that,
We'll see how individually we're affected by feeling lack of this power of love.
I mean,
We might have a touch of love,
But we're looking at to totally feel filled with love.
So do you experience living in a world of warm hearts and open minds?
If someone's frosty,
Their heart is frozen.
I meet a lot of frosty people,
So I can't say I experience living in a world full of warm hearts.
I know there's a lot and I feel a lot and I meet a lot and I love and appreciate those who have warm hearts.
But you have to also appreciate those who don't have warm hearts,
Because actually you're like the hot water bottle.
You can warm their hearts.
That's the wonder,
Actually,
Of having this power of love.
You can warm up their hearts on a cold evening.
Because if someone is frozen,
Their heart is frozen.
And you might find them difficult to get on with.
You might find awkward,
Strange situations,
And they don't agree with you and all sorts of things because their attitude becomes hard.
And they're unable to cooperate.
So they won't agree with you.
They won't be anything like,
You know,
To go to create a nice atmosphere.
It makes it very tricky.
But actually,
These are the people that you can share with and help.
People who already have warm hearts will be away warming up other people.
So it's our job to understand ourselves to have a warm heart.
And an easy way to develop feelings of love is to create an internal chant of gratitude.
What am I grateful for?
What do I have?
How am I able to think clearly?
How am I able to understand?
How am I able to respond in more and more gentle and kind of ways?
Let me be grateful.
And even if I look at what I have physically,
Let me be grateful for everything I have.
Because a lot of people don't have very much.
So if I have a chant of gratitude,
It's like singing songs inside the self.
It's nice.
Sing songs.
Wow,
How lucky I am.
This brings a feeling of security and warmth to the soul.
So when you feel quite safe,
You don't feel you're challenged.
So you feel quite warm,
Which is actually akin to feeling loving.
So when you feel like that,
That warmth,
Just like a fire,
If you stand in front of a fire,
You can feel the warm.
So the warmth of your attitude can affect people.
This brings a feeling of security and warmth to the soul.
First to you,
Because you're feeling grateful.
And then others standing in front of that warmth can feel the warmth.
And so even if others are not loving towards you,
Then still it is possible to keep the flow of love in your own self.
Keep being grateful in yourself.
You've thawed out quite a lot and you're feeling OK and you're not going to be affected by frosty atmospheres.
Everyone is thirsty for love.
Everyone.
Even people with millions in the bank are thirsty for love.
Because really rich people can be very cold hearted also,
Because that's not exactly got internal warmth in it.
Maybe physically everything is fine.
But inside.
Not everyone,
But some.
So love is a great power and love makes everything easy.
It makes my life easier,
Relationships easier.
The way I feel about myself,
The way I can handle situations,
The way I can deal with unfortunate circumstances that come to the self,
Which they will.
Practicing soul awareness and my connection with the one above.
The Supreme Soul develops a feeling of protection like a hand of blessing.
Over myself.
Over I,
The soul.
So I can,
I can feel everything's OK.
This feeling of love removes.
Any concern or worry that I might have.
It helps me to feel.
Safe.
Relax.
We're in a special time when it's possible to experience the love of that one above.
This doesn't happen all the time.
It is just a sort of certain time when this is possible.
And this is now possible.
You deserve love.
So don't stay frozen.
Which is fearful and critical and worried.
Don't stay like that.
Count your blessings of gratitude.
Because there are pearls and diamonds and love of love waiting.
For you.
Don't be happy with just a little experience of love.
Tiny little hand warmer.
You want a big bonfire.
You want to feel the warmth of love.
And it's something you feel in yourself.
And you can then radiate it out.
To others.
And.
The thing we have to do here is to do meditation.
Because it's when I do meditation,
I can understand the sort of frozen parts of myself.
And these are the parts that are apprehensive and fearful and slightly worried or.
Any of these things.
Tension.
Concern.
These are the cold parts.
When you meditate every day.
That's where your gratitude can come from.
And you'll say thank goodness.
I'm so glad.
Oh.
It's not such a big thing.
This is not such a big worry anymore.
I'm not so concerned anymore.
I feel I could have the patience for whatever.
I feel I'm OK.
So people have experienced their heart being broken and into pieces.
In relationships with others.
But now.
Godly love.
Can make your heart connect.
To the one.
And this is a place of comfort.
And when I do this for a few minutes a day.
The heart feels soothed.
So why does the heart feel soothed?
You feel someone's there for you.
You feel someone understands your inner chant.
Your inner voice.
Someone understands that which you wouldn't.
Explain to the world.
You can't explain the world because you can't even explain it yourself at that time.
But your heart feels.
There's someone who understands me.
So that's why meditation every day helps us to become unfrozen and loving.
Love.
Makes you.
Powerful.
And it is important.
To understand.
The love.
From the one above.
This is important.
And we need to test this to see.
We need to feel it.
It's very real.
And if I only try to make a connection when I need help.
Then that love will be.
Limited.
Because I'll have the ego to think I'm fine most of the time but when things get desperate.
I'll seek help.
Well it means that I'm taking.
Love.
But I'm not ready to actually.
Give it back.
Through appreciation and gratitude.
Thankfulness.
And basking in the happiness of that.
Connection of how lucky I am.
Actually.
If I love someone it's difficult to forget them.
If I love someone I'll think about them.
So don't be frosty.
But allow your heart.
To melt.
Allow your heart to melt.
The divine is an exquisite gentle.
Personality.
An ocean of love.
The one above.
Is love without limit.
It's an ocean without limit.
And is there whenever our thoughts take us there.
Always there.
So don't be happy with just a little experience of love.
Teach yourself to.
Really become someone who's filled with.
Love for the self.
Which will change so many of the frozen aspects.
In our attitudes and that warmth will.
Begin to be felt by others.
Okay.
You spoke about being grateful and just to practice like a chant inside.
Makes sense.
It's interesting that all the prompts from outside.
Become increasingly the opposite.
They're trying things.
They're trying to make me want things.
And feel a lack and that I need that or that or this or this or to go here.
Or to go there in order to increase my happiness or my worthiness.
But actually meditation is teaching me the opposite.
So how do I get on the track of gratitude like practically.
What kind of practice could I have?
What do you do?
Do you do every day practice that?
Yeah.
I think if we have a touch honest in our hearts.
Even a touch.
And even if we're very practical minded.
We can know that we've so many things to be grateful for.
Even if you take physical things to be grateful for.
And the fact that we have a thinking head that can show us the benefit of the things we have to be grateful for.
And the more I can start looking at gratitude.
However I look at it.
I mean we're all different.
This will help me to become more softer in my attitudes to how I am with others.
And then of course there'll be a lot of things will come along where I might think others seem to have everything and this is in the physical way.
But then.
I can see if I observe that that hasn't made them exactly unfrozen.
They may have masses like we're seeing even millionaires are thirsty for love.
So I could start the process of gratitude with what I actually have that which I can see if I don't really understand spirituality to begin with.
And then I can understand perhaps I have to look inside me to see what is it that's worth more than all the things we need the things to live in the physical world.
We need physical supports.
But my soul needs a spiritual support.
So as to fill me with these qualities which are unlimited which will keep me completely safe whether if I was a millionaire and I lost all my money I'd still be OK.
Or whatever I had or whatever I didn't have I would feel OK.
Because it's the inner feeling that gives me the warmth.
The outer understanding is very practical but the inner understanding is where the love develops.
I can tell when you're speaking and even just sitting in the atmosphere for 20 minutes or so that it is an inner thing.
It's quite subtle and it's hard to describe.
It's not flashy and in your face and it's quite a personal inner journey to understand that energy,
Softness and soul awareness.
And you said that everyone in the world is thirsty for that.
So when the answer is so simple in a way,
Even just sitting for a short time feeling slightly defrosted.
When the answer is so simple,
Why can people not tap into that more readily if they're so thirsty for even just a moment of that feeling of real pure soul love?
I think because we're over a long period of time we think that the solutions are outside.
And it's not until we begin to think even maybe perhaps the solutions are inside.
And when I start looking inside I need to encourage myself to become peaceful,
Free from tension.
And as I begin to let my barriers down to my own self,
It doesn't matter about MDL's it's not with me when I'm doing my meditation.
They're not in my head,
It's me.
And when I start to let these barriers down,
The softness and the stress free,
Tension free feelings come to the self.
And when these feelings come to the self I'm able to understand different attitudes that I think could be better.
And I begin to change knowingly inside quietly,
Quietly and softly.
I begin to change and when I see and feel I can feel the actual ripples of peacefulness in the physical body.
And when I see that's how this works,
Whenever something else comes in front I can quickly go into the relaxed mode.
And thereby go through whatever it is more with that understanding of whatever or whoever's in front of me.
But I have to do this every day and more and more every day it gets deeper in me and more and more I understand and I'm more capable of interacting in that loving way with others under all circumstances.
Spiritual love.
But people in front of me are maybe not spiritually minded.
But they can feel they've come to a warm fire if you like.
So there will be times when we meet people or have to work with people that have levels of frostiness.
So a while back I was working with people and there was quite a number of what I would describe as frosty characters in the environment.
And there's no way that those people are ever changing within the next number of months or even years.
That's the way they were.
What are your methods or tips or where do you go if you have to on a daily basis not just bypass people but actually work alongside people that can be extremely frosty.
I would say that when I'm working,
Been working out there before I started to look at this,
The way we would be would be to get praise from others,
To impress others.
And that's what gave us all our stress and all our tension because we put so much energy into trying so hard to get praise and to do the right thing.
And we'd be exhausted.
We'd be anything but relaxed.
And now when I start to see the benefit of being peaceful inside,
No matter how frosty someone is,
Refuse to melt,
No matter what.
The journey is mine inside.
I have to stay on my journey and not change into being apprehensive because they're not changing.
Or get,
What can I do to make them?
I cannot make anybody do anything.
Yeah,
My vibration can have an effect and it can have an effect without being seen and without the other person even knowing it's having a subtle effect.
But until people start to think for themselves,
There cannot be a big change.
And for that,
They would have to think to do something remarkable about themselves.
And the simple,
Easy thing is to practice meditation and see the feelings inside and not want to change others with that in the wrong way.
Because you cannot change others in the wrong way.
You can talk to others and think what to say and hopefully be helpful and useful.
But it's up to them what they do with that.
And it's not for me to now get apprehensive to think,
Did that work?
That didn't work.
I don't think that worked.
That person's still horrible to me.
That person doesn't appreciate how good I am.
That's arrogance.
That means I've let go of my own journey.
It's quite interesting to look at these things.
Probably a topic for another day.
I think it might come up on your next talk about wisdom.
But there is a time to be cool,
Not frosty,
But it's not all about being a bonfire of love all the time.
Sometimes the form of love is quite cool.
Can.
Because that's what's needed.
A balance.
Coolness and warmth.
Because when the weather's hot,
You want to cool down.
When the weather's cold,
You want to get heated by a fire.
So your own nature has to become like that.
Like if someone was very agitated and angry and you would want to be cool.
You wouldn't be throwing love at them at that point.
You'd be keeping yourself very calm,
Very cool,
Very peaceful.
OK.
So I think we'll have a few minutes meditation.
OK,
So let's sit.
In a very calm.
And loving way.
Focus our energy in the centre of the forehead.
Because I am the soul.
I'm the spiritual being.
And it's the soul that can think.
What's best for the self?
And then this will have an effect on others.
So focusing on the energy of love.
And there's the coolness of love.
Calm,
Coolness of love.
Soothing,
Sweet.
And then there's the warmth of love.
Understanding.
Kindness.
Respect.
So there's so many beautiful things to think of.
And I become aware that.
The energy of the soul is very valuable.
A being of light.
Of love.
Of peace.
Of coolness.
Sweetness.
Kindness.
Able to be useful.
Every second.
With this beautiful energy of light.
And to remember to be empowered by the one above.
The Divine.
The one who is the highest energy ever.
Is an exquisite,
Gentle personality.
And the notion of love.
Love without limit.
