Welcome to this guided meditation for emotional support.
To help you when dealing with difficult emotions.
Take a few moments to settle into a position that feels comfortable.
Allow your body to be supported.
Feel the ground beneath you.
Notice the chair,
Floor,
Or bed holding your weight.
Let it hold you.
You don't have to hold everything by yourself right now.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
And gently breathe out through your mouth.
Again,
Breathing in… and breathing out.
One more slow and easy breath.
Allowing your exhale to be just a little longer than the inhale.
And as you begin to arrive in your space,
Notice how you're feeling today.
Not how you think you should feel.
Not how you wish you felt.
Simply observing.
How you are.
Perhaps sadness is here.
Perhaps anger.
Fear.
Disappointment.
Loneliness frustration.
Or perhaps it's something you can't quite name.
Whatever is here,
You don't need to push it away.
And you don't need to hold onto it either.
For these next few moments,
Simply allow it to be noticed.
Imagine that your emotions are like waves on the surface of the ocean.
Summer gentle.
Some are powerful.
Some rise quickly.
Others linger.
But beneath every wave,
The ocean remains deep and steady.
You are not the wave.
You are the ocean.
Your emotions are part of your experience.
They are not the whole of who you are.
Take another slow breath.
Bring your attention to where this emotion lives in your body.
Perhaps it's a heaviness in your chest.
A knot in your stomach.
Tension in your throat.
Warmth in your face.
Or restlessness in your hands.
Without trying to change it,
Simply become curious.
Can you notice its shape?
Its temperature.
Its movement.
Can you allow it to exist without calling it good or bad?
Sometimes the kindest thing we can do is stop arguing with what we're feeling.
Silently whisper,
This belongs here too.
I don't have to fight this feeling.
I can make space for what is here Imagine now that you're sitting beside a dear friend.
Someone you love deeply.
They are feeling exactly what you're feeling right now.
Notice how naturally compassion arises.
You wouldn't tell them to simply get over it.
You wouldn't ask them to hurry.
He would sit beside them.
Offering your presence.
Now imagine turning that same kindness towards yourself.
Place one hand over your heart if it feels comforting.
Or anywhere your body longs for care.
Quietly say to yourself,
I'm here with you.
You don't have to go through this alone.
We'll take one breath at a time.
Allow your breathing to become slow and steady.
Imagine each inhale creating a little more space around the emotion.
Not making it disappear.
Simply giving it room to breathe.
Notice that space is growing.
The emotion is still there,
But now so is your compassion.
So is your breath.
So is your awareness.
You are larger than this moment.
Repeat these words slowly.
My feelings are welcome here.
I do not need to fear my emotions.
Every feeling carries a message.
I can listen without becoming lost.
I can meet myself with kindness while it does.
Rest here for several quiet breaths.
Notice that nothing needs to be solved.
Nothing needs to be rushed.
Emotions are like weather.
Some days are sunny.
Summer stormy.
Summer quiet.
None of them stay forever.
Your job is not to control the weather.
Your job is simply to care for yourself while it passes.
As we begin to close,
Imagine wrapping yourself up in a warm blanket of compassion.
Soft.
Gentle.
Study.
Notice how it feels to receive your own kindness.
Offer yourself these final words.
May I be gentle with myself.
May I honor what I am feeling.
May I trust that I can move through difficult emotions with courage and compassion.
May I remember that every emotion deserves kindness,
Including my own.
Take one more nourishing breath in.
And slowly let it go.
Notice the room around you.
The sounds nearby.
The support beneath your body.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
As you go carry this with you today.
You don't have to fix every feeling.
You don't have to silence every tear.
You don't have to explain every emotion.
Sometimes healing begins the moment you stop resisting what is already asking to be felt.
And in that gentle acceptance.
You create space for something new to emerge.
