Five Acred Wood Fables,

The Cat and the Crow by R.

M.

Bode This is the story of The Cat and the Crow,

A strange pairing of pals whose friendship continues to grow.

Wherever the cat walks on this earthly ground,

Flying in the air nearby,

The crow will surely be found.

The Cat and the Crow had been on many adventures,

Traveling both near and far.

They traveled with the sun by day and at night staying aligned with the north star.

Today is the start of a journey The Cat and the Crow had been hoping to take for many years.

It took some time,

But they had finally overcome their anxieties and fears.

It is the fall equinox and there is a crisp,

Cool feel to the air.

The Cat and the Crow knew it was time for another adventure to share.

Together,

The Cat and the Crow set off on their journey to find the fabled five-acre wood they had heard so much about.

The cat walked the land while the crow took to the sky for an aerial route.

To ward off any potential danger,

The Cat practiced his roar,

Which was more like a meow.

The cat really wanted to sound loud and strong,

But he just didn't know how.

The crow was also learning to use her unique voice.

Loud caws and harsh coos are typically her calls of choice.

The Cat and the Crow took breaks every few hours to sleep,

Eat,

And drink.

They spent their nights together,

Taking time to talk,

Rest,

And think.

According to the crow's calculation,

They would arrive at the five-acre wood by tomorrow afternoon.

The Cat was so happy to hear that they would reach their destination soon.

The whole night long,

The Cat and the Crow pondered about the exciting possibilities that laid ahead.

The Cat and the Crow agreed.

It was getting late,

And it was time for bed.

As the new day began with the light and warming sun,

The Cat and the Crow were awakened feeling in anticipation of fun.

The pair walked and flew over the hills,

Through the creek and underneath the bridge,

Across the lake and finally atop the ridge.

To the joy and relief of both The Cat and the Crow,

Through the trees a sign that read,

Five Acred Wood began to show.

As The Cat and the Crow approached the legendary Five Acred Wood,

They were greeted by Mrs.

Owl,

Who told them they were free to stay as long as they felt they should.

The Cat and the Crow knew after their first night's stay,

They had found their new home and there was no need to wander or stray.

The Cat and the Crow were welcomed to stay.

They had so many new friends and neighbors to frolic with and play.

A few years have passed since The Cat and the Crow made their home at the Five Acred Wood with their many neighbors and friends.

Stay tuned for future stories from the Five Acred Wood.

This is surely not where the story ends.

Thank you for listening to the Five Acred Wood fable,

The Cat and the Crow.

Much love,

Bodhi.

This is a brilliant story about facing anxieties and fears in order to explore and find home. My kid said that he can’t wait for more stories of the 5-acred wood. He hopes the cat and crow make an appearance again soon. Thanks Bodhi!
