O God,

Make speed to save us.

O Lord,

Make haste to help us.

Glory to the Father,

And to the Son,

And to the Holy Spirit,

As it was in the beginning,

Is now,

And will be for ever.

Amen.

Alleluia.

Your word is a lantern to my feet,

And a light upon my path.

I have sworn and am determined to keep your righteous judgments.

I am deeply troubled.

Preserve my life,

O Lord,

According to your word.

Accept,

O Lord,

The willing tribute of my lips,

And teach me your judgments.

My life is always in my hand,

Yet I do not forget your law.

The wicked have set a trap for me,

But I have not strayed from your commandments.

Your decrees are my inheritance for ever.

Truly they are the joy of my heart.

I have applied my heart to fulfill your statutes,

For ever and to the end.

Glory to the Father,

And to the Son,

And to the Holy Spirit,

As it was in the beginning,

Is now,

And will be for ever.

Amen.

The love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

Thanks be to God.

Our meditation will be a 20-minute period of centering prayer.

During this time,

As thoughts arise,

We simply allow the thoughts to drift away by gently turning our awareness back to a simple,

Sacred word.

There's no need to repeat the word as though it were a mantra.

It instead represents our consent to being present with God.

I will invite us into the period of centering prayer with a phrase of scripture.

We'll sit together for 20 minutes of silence,

Practicing letting go of thoughts and sensations and ideas,

And simply being present to God's Spirit dwelling in us.

At the end of the centering prayer period,

There will be a bell to bring us back,

And then we'll continue with the office.

Be still and know that I am God.

Be still and know that I am.

Be still and know.

Be still.

Be.

Lord,

Have mercy.

Christ,

Have mercy.

Lord,

Have mercy.

Our Father,

Who art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done,

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

And the power,

And the glory,

Forever and ever.

Amen.

Lord,

Hear our prayer and let our cry come to you.

Let us pray.

Heavenly Father,

Send your Holy Spirit into our hearts to direct and rule us according to your will,

To comfort us in all our afflictions,

To defend us from all error,

And to lead us into all truth.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

I invite your prayers of intercession and thanksgiving.

Let us bless the Lord.

Thanks be to God.
