Details

This 19-day Sound Journey in the Himalayas is designed as a profound immersion into ancient Nepalese wisdom, nature, and self-discovery. We gather an intimate group of 10-16 seekers in one of the world's most spiritually potent landscapes, where the boundaries between inner and outer worlds naturally dissolve. Ambiance: Beginning at the sacred Boudha Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and powerful pilgrimage centre, we intentionally time our arrival to witness Nepal's most sacred Tihar (Diwali) festival - a once-in-a-lifetime cultural experience. This rare opportunity to celebrate alongside local communities as they honour animals, light, and the goddess Lakshmi sets a deeply reverent tone for the journey. From the ancient temples of Kathmandu, we move into the serene majesty of the Himalayas, trekking through low-tourism trails with breathtaking Mount Everest views, where silence becomes a teacher and nature reveals her deepest wisdom. Mountain teahouses, sacred monasteries, and authentic village life create an atmosphere of simplicity and profound connection. Intent: This journey bridges authentic Eastern spiritual traditions with accessible practices for modern seekers. Through sound healing, daily Qigong, and meditation in the Himalayas' sacred landscape, we support your reconnection with your true nature and awaken the peace and love that reside within. Optional moments of silence allow each participant to move at their own depth and honour their personal journey. Benefits: Participants experience a deep reset and natural tuning throughout our daily practices, local rituals and meditative walks in the Himalayas. Daily Qigong and meditation practices cultivate energy awareness and inner stillness. The physical challenge of Himalayan trekking (3-6 hours daily) combined with meditative walking creates embodied presence and mental clarity. Cultural immersion during the Tihar festival and shamanic ceremonies offers a rare insight into living spiritual traditions. Mount Everest views and time in sacred sites naturally inspire awe and perspective shifts. Integration days ensure the body and spirit have time to absorb the transformation. Unique Features: Led by a certified Sound Healer who studied for years under a Himalayan master and has spent two decades in Nepal, this retreat offers genuine lineage-based practices rather than Western adaptations. The timing coincides with Nepal's sacred Tihar festival and culminates in a Full Moon sound healing concert with traditional instruments. Our route follows less-commercial trails, allowing authentic encounters with local communities, including a traditional shamanic ceremony in a mountain village. We visit the sacred Thupten Chöling Monastery and receive teachings from an official transcendental meditation teacher rooted in Nepali tradition. The journey honours both group connection and individual reflection throughout. This is not just a retreat—it's a pilgrimage to the source, a return to the essence of these ancient practices in the land where they were born, guided by someone who has made Nepal her spiritual home for almost twenty years for the love of the land, the people, and the living spirit.

In Kathmandu Valley, we stay in a comfortable hotel in the Boudha area near the sacred stupa, with private rooms available for each participant, where we will do our daily practices in a small attached monastery or a Yoga room. During our 11-day Himalayan trek, we stay in traditional mountain teahouses where accommodation is in shared double rooms due to the remote nature of the trail. Single rooms in the mountains are very limited. The teahouses are simple and authentic, without heating except for a fire stove in the dining hall. This combination offers both comfort during our cultural immersion in Kathmandu and an authentic mountain experience that connects us to the land and local way of life.

Schedule

Our 19-day journey unfolds in three distinct phases, each offering its own rhythm and transformation. Days 1-3: Cultural Immersion in Kathmandu. We begin in the sacred Boudha area, timing our arrival to witness Nepal's most celebrated Tihar (Diwali) festival. These opening days are devoted to cultural exploration of ancient temples, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and participating in local festival celebrations alongside Nepalese communities. Days 4-14: Himalayan Trek. We journey into the mountains for 11 days of trekking through low-tourism trails with Mount Everest views. The trek includes 3-6 hours of walking per day, with two rest and integration days. We'll experience traditional shamanic ceremonies in mountain villages, visit the sacred Thupten Chöling Monastery, and stay in authentic teahouses, immersing ourselves in local mountain life. Days 15-19: Integration and Completion in Kathmandu. Returning to the valley, we dedicate our final days to deep integration through individual therapies, massage, transcendental meditation introduction, and our culminating Full Moon ritual with traditional music. We close with a legendary Nepalese dinner ceremony and final meditation circle. Daily Rhythm: Throughout the journey, mornings typically begin with Qigong, breathwork, and meditation. Sound healing sessions unfold spontaneously in the magical, natural settings we discover together. NOTICE: A detailed day-by-day itinerary is available as a PDF upon request and can be sent after booking a slot.
