Welcome to mindful Monday.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable position and begin to follow your breath.
Follow your breath with each inhale and exhale.
Noticing the texture and sensation of your breath.
This practice is an invitation to open our hearts to a new level of compassion for ourselves and others.
To begin,
I invite you to bring to mind a friend or loved one whom you know is experiencing emotional discomfort or suffering right now.
Just imagining this being standing in front of you.
Moving your awareness to your heart area.
As you breathe in,
Imagine that your heart is a source of bright,
Warm,
Compassionate light.
Each inhale activates that light.
Each exhale,
You're sending and sharing that light with this loved one and offering it to their suffering.
Imagining the warm light,
Circling and surrounding and infusing their suffering with love.
Taking a few moments,
Focusing your attention on the warm light at the center of your heart and sharing that light with this loved one.
Next,
By extending this warm,
Loving,
Peaceful light,
Vouch to a stranger.
Allowing each inhale to activate the warm,
Bright light at the center of your chest.
And each exhale to send that light out and share it with the world.
Imagining others being enveloped by the calm and comforting light that you're breathing out from your heart.
As you're continuing to breathe and connect with this light,
Being if you can offer and send and share some of that with yourself.
There's an area of your life you're experiencing suffering,
Sending and sharing this light there.
Allowing the light to infuse this situation with love and peace.
Taking a few final breaths with this practice.
Slowly transitioning out.
Bringing your awareness to your breath and your body.
Noticing how you feel right now.
Seeing if you might be able to bring some of this peace and light that's been cultivated in this practice out into your day and into the world.
