We'll begin this practice by finding a comfortable position,
Ideally sitting upright if possible.
For this reflective practice,
You may find it helpful to have a notebook or place where you can write and keep track of any insights or things you want to remember.
You can pause the recording here to get yourself set up for this time.
This practice is designed to help you carve out some time to reflect and think about what's important to you right now in your work life,
To find some clarity and create a vision for what you'd ideally like to experience in your career at this stage in your life.
If you're currently in a situation where you feel unhappy in your career and want to make a change but feel stuck and confused about what's next,
These reflection questions will hopefully help you to sort through some of the clutter in your mind and perhaps open up some ideas.
Let's begin by taking a few deep breaths,
Drawing in a long,
Slow breath through your nose if possible and exhaling through your mouth,
Allowing your body to relax and settle into this restorative time.
And when it feels right,
Finding a natural,
Easy pace for your breath to return to.
I'm going to begin by asking you some reflective questions,
Which you can either answer in your head or write down.
You might also find you prefer to listen and journal after the meditation.
Feel free to hit pause on the recording after each question and spend as much time as you'd like reflecting.
From where you sit today,
What feels most important to you as it relates to your career?
What's currently missing in your career life?
How would you like to feel most of the time that you spend on your work?
How would you ideally like your work day to flow?
What's your ideal work environment?
What type of work is or would be most inspiring and fulfilling to you?
What does meaningful work mean to you?
How will you know if you're satisfied in your career?
What do you want to be at work?
What qualities and traits do you want to embody?
In addition to continuing to reflect on these questions,
What feels like one or two small steps you can take to move the needle forward towards creating your ideal work life?
Whenever you're ready,
You can begin to slowly transition out of this practice for now,
Opening your eyes if they were closed,
Taking in your environment,
Maybe moving or stretching your body a little,
Giving yourself some appreciation for taking this time for yourself and to think about your desires and goals,
Knowing that you can return to these questions again and again for continued exploration.
