Welcome to this walking meditation where we connect with the air elements.
I invite you to go outside,
Wear earplugs so that I can guide you through on this journey.
As you step outside,
Just start to walk slowly and take in your surroundings.
Look through your eyes and notice what you see.
Notice where your eyes are drawn to automatically.
Maybe that's down to the surface underneath you.
Maybe that's on your eye level or up to the sky.
As you take in your surroundings through the eyes,
Start to open your ears to any sounds of your surroundings.
Perhaps you're walking through a city and there's traffic and people.
Maybe you hear nature sounds like birds.
Perhaps you can hear the wind.
Maybe you can even feel the wind touching your skin and feel the temperature of the air and the space around you.
As you're walking slowly,
Be very mindful of how you step your feet on the earth and feel the different surfaces that you step your feet on.
Starting with the rhythm of your walk.
Then take a moment to find stillness.
As you are here standing in stillness,
Really let your feet drop into your shoes if you're wearing shoes and drop into the earth.
We come really heavy.
You may close your eyes and slowly withdraw some of your senses.
You're closing your eyes and then what do you hear?
Observing sounds.
Subtle sounds.
Sounds that appear from a distance far away.
Sounds that appear nearby.
Then bring your awareness to your nostrils.
Take a deep breath in and a sigh out.
As you breathe in,
Feel the freshness of the air and then breathe out the old.
Seeing out completely,
Creating space for a new breath,
A new stream of fresh air to enter the body,
To fill you up with this vital force,
This life energy.
Feel it circling through your body,
Bringing the aliveness in your body.
Then breathe out and feel how you are giving the air back.
You're creating space to receive this new breath again.
There's this constant interaction,
Air flowing in and out,
Receiving and giving back.
Feel this connection with nature,
With your surroundings.
Then note that the breath that you are breathing now,
The air that is flowing in,
Is also keeping all your surroundings alive.
We all breathe in the same air.
Notice how this air is connecting us with plants.
We are giving back the out-breath into the atmosphere to feed the trees that surround us.
The trees give back fresh air that keeps us alive.
The beauty of this cycle of nature ever flowing,
This exchange of fresh,
New air.
As you're standing still,
Breathing,
Bring your awareness to your skin.
You may feel the wind touching your skin.
You may feel the temperature of the air that's hugging you.
With this awareness,
Slowly,
Slowly start to open your eyes again.
Perhaps you first keep your gaze down.
Maybe you can already see how the wind is playing with your surroundings.
Perhaps that is visible at the level of the earth.
Maybe you bring your gaze up a little.
Perhaps you see how the wind is playing with your hair.
As you open up all your senses to this air element,
You see how everything is connected.
You may continue your walk.
Walk slowly.
I will leave you here and I will give you some time and space to continue this walk while observing,
Feeling and sensing this air element around you,
Within your body.
See if you can stay away from any distractions of your phone.
Just stay with this moment,
With this air element.
Enjoy the rest of your walk.
Let the air guide you from here.
