Hello.
Welcome,
Dear one.
I often like to do this meditation lying down with my knees bent,
Feet flat on the ground,
As we'll be focusing on that feet-ground connection in time.
And you do whatever feels right for you.
Also,
Brief note on language.
I will use the Great Mother throughout this meditation,
And know you are welcome to replace that with whichever word feels right to you,
Source,
Creator,
Love,
God,
The Divine,
Knowing it's this unnameable force which animates all life.
So I invite you to lie down,
If that feels comfortable,
And taking your time to slowly,
Gradually close your eyes,
Again if that feels right,
Noticing the difference between the realm of eyes open and eyes closed.
Settling in.
Sense into your body,
And notice if there's a micro-movement or micro-adjustment that would make you 1% more comfortable.
And if you're sensing that,
Listen to your body and go ahead and make that adjustment.
Connecting with the breath.
As it is.
Inviting you to deepen and lengthen your next inhale and exhale,
Perhaps sighing or making an audible sound of release on the exhale.
Returning to natural breaths.
Inviting a softening into your jaw.
Are there any tiny muscles that are ready to release and melt with your exhale?
Bringing that breath and attention now to your shoulders.
What here can melt and release with your next two exhales?
Lastly,
Checking in with your legs and inviting them to soften with your next two breaths.
Turning your attention now to the sensation of being held by whatever surface your body is on,
Wherever you're making contact.
And as your breath is being breathed in a natural rhythm,
Feeling your body settle as it's held and supported by the earth.
We now invite in our spirit.
Invite your spirit to your body and ask your spirit to show you your meditation sanctuary today.
A place where your spirit feels safe and nourished.
Trusting whatever comes,
However it comes.
Going with whatever thread or subtle nudge we sense.
Whether it's a whisper or a vibrant scene,
This practice of trusting is what strengthens intuition.
Slowly taking a look around,
Allowing the scene to expand as you soak in the beauty of this place.
The texture of this place.
What sounds can you hear?
What smells can you smell?
What smells are here?
Is the air dry or moist?
Cool or warm?
Are there tree and plant friends here?
Flowers?
As you're looking around,
Arriving in your meditation sanctuary,
I invite you to soak in these connections with the great web of life.
To feel the love emanating from the plants and animals,
The streams and mountains.
Whatever is present in your sanctuary today.
Sensing into how much they welcome and delight in your presence,
Exactly as you are.
How does your body feel?
Surrounded in this love.
Nourished in this place where it can truly be.
Let's take a moment to offer gratitude to the Great Mother.
Again,
Or whatever word feels right to you.
She is holding us.
Loving us.
Guiding us.
She's here when we choose to connect.
And she's here breathing life into our lungs.
Nudging us towards our soul's path when we're unaware.
So from your heart,
Send gratitude now in whatever way feels right.
And let's drop a first grounding cord from your meditation sanctuary to your body,
From your head through your feet,
And down,
Down into the earth.
See this cord go deep,
Deep into the earth.
Wrapping around a huge boulder or anchored inn.
And feel that tug as your meditation sanctuary is grounded into here and now,
Deep in the earth.
Let's send another grounding cord,
This time from the base of your spine.
And ask your spirit to show you a grounding that feels strong to you.
This might be tree roots.
A waterfall.
Copper.
A chain.
Something else.
And see this grounding go deep,
Deep,
Deep below the earth's surface.
And as your grounding goes deeper,
It also goes wider.
Deeper,
Wider,
And wider still.
So sturdy.
As your grounding expands deeper and wider,
See it reach the earth's center.
And attach or anchor so securely.
And then feel into that tug from the base of your spine to the bottom of this firm,
Firm grounding.
Notice what this feels like in your body.
Sense for any subtle shifts in sensation.
Then,
Open the bottom of your feet like flower petals.
And on your next inhale,
Receive earth energy from your grounding.
And feel it come up through the bottoms of your feet,
Up your legs,
To about your belly button.
So inhaling,
We'll receive earth energy through the bottom of the feet,
Up the legs.
And as you exhale,
Release anything that's ready to release.
Anything stagnant,
Other people's energy,
Anything not serving your highest good.
So that energy will be leaving out of your feet on each exhale.
And we ask the Great Mother to please compost and transmute this energy into new life.
So,
Inhale,
Earth energy comes up,
Filling your legs and midsection.
And exhale,
Release.
Inhale,
Earth energy comes up.
And exhale,
Release.
Inhaling,
Earth energy comes up.
And on the exhale,
Release.
Inhaling,
Earth energy comes in,
Fills your legs,
Your root,
To your belly button.
And exhale,
Release.
As you're filling with more and more stable earth energy,
Now on each exhale,
Feel your spirit drop down.
Dropping deeper and deeper into the earth.
You might see them taking that elevator down,
Down.
So inhaling,
Earth energy comes up,
We receive.
And exhale,
Release,
Dropping deeper down.
Inhale,
That earth energy rises.
And exhale,
Your spirit drops deeper down.
Two more breaths like this on your own.
When you complete,
Relax your breath.
Take a moment to feel into your body.
Notice any subtle sensations.
How does it feel to be this deeply grounded,
This deep down with the earth?
And now that we are grounded,
Our energy,
Our spirit,
We are able to receive life force from above.
So ask your spirit to call back all of your energy,
Your unique life force,
And gather it at the top of your head in two huge suns.
All your energy is coming back from other people,
From loved ones,
From other places.
From concerns,
From anywhere it's been in all realms.
Your life force is returning now and gathering into two suns at the top of your head.
This energy is what makes you feel like you,
What enlivens you.
It is your essence,
Your soul,
Your connection with the divine.
And opening your chakras to receive,
Let's slowly bring the first sun of your life force down through the crown chakra at the top of your head.
Down through your sixth chakra,
The third eye on your forehead above your nose.
Down through the throat chakra,
Your fifth.
Down through your heart center,
Your fourth.
Down through solar plexus,
This is your upper abdomen just above the belly button.
Down to your sacral chakra,
This is the lower abdomen close to your reproductive organs.
Down to the root,
Very base of your spine.
And bring that sun slowly down your legs.
And down your feet into your grounding,
Filling your roots or your grounding with your life force.
Okay,
We're going to bring down that second sun of your life force now.
And as it descends,
I invite you to open your awareness to sensations.
Are there areas where your life force seems to flow smoothly?
And areas where it feels a little bit slow or stuck or any other texture,
Color?
Open to the very subtlest with curiosity and openness of what's here today.
Okay,
Let's go ahead bringing that second sun of your life force down your midline.
Starting at the top of your head.
Slowly descending to your third eye,
To your throat,
To your heart,
To your solar plexus,
To your sacral chakra,
To your root,
Down your upper legs,
Down your lower legs,
Down into the earth beneath you,
Filling your grounding with your vital life force.
This energy is continuing to come down from above,
Go through your body,
Down into the earth.
And as it's doing so,
Know that the earth rejoices to receive this energy from above through your body.
It is your presence and intention which creates this connection,
Allowing this energy from the sun above to enter the earth below and healing your energy flow in the process,
Receiving.
And if there was any area where you had felt resistance or constriction or lack of fluid flow,
I invite you now to spend a minute or so with this place.
You might invite in a bright golden light.
Ask your spirit to help strengthen the flow in that place or whatever feels right to your intuition,
Completing whatever you're experiencing.
Let's turn our attention now towards your aura,
The energetic sphere around your body,
Allowing some time to sense into what's here.
Are there textures?
Colors?
Light?
Are there holes?
Does it feel very close to your body or very large farther away?
So let's give your aura a refresh also,
Asking anything old,
Stagnant,
That doesn't belong to you,
Other people's energy,
We send it down to the Great Mother with our prayer to please compost and transmute these energies into new life.
So sending down anything old.
And then let's invite in fresh earth energy from below and life force from above to fill this space in your aura.
See a bright blue light encompassing your whole aura above your head,
In front of you,
Both sides of you,
Behind you,
And below your feet.
Soaking in this healing blue light,
This fresh energy.
And if you had sensed any holes or thin spots earlier,
You can visit them now,
See them thicken and fill.
Ask for whatever is right for your spirit today.
And finally,
Let's ground your aura also,
Which does dip below your feet into the earth.
So whether with roots or tent stakes or whatever visual helps you feel your aura connect with your grounding deep,
Deep down into the earth.
And returning your attention now to your body sensations,
Which we're staying connected with throughout.
What does it feel like in your body to have both earth energy and your life force freshly flowing in your system?
This life force flowing through you now is the same essence,
The same creative power that transforms an acorn into a forest of oak trees.
That carves canyons into rock from water flowing over millions and millions of years,
Flowing where there's least resistance.
The same force that gives bird its song,
That sends the winds through the branches,
Leaves falling when it's their right timing moment to release from the tree and fall to the earth.
There is divine connection in this great web of life,
Guided by love,
By the Great Mother.
We need only to relax into our true essence,
Into love,
Releasing ideas of who we think we are,
Remembering who we truly are,
And allowing the unfolding,
Trusting the sacred web of life.
From this rooted place,
Nourished by earth energy and our life force,
It is often where clarity can enter,
Where we can realign with our soul.
So I invite you to ask your wisest,
Most loving self to join you in your meditation sanctuary.
Sense them joining you now.
I'll give you five minutes here in your meditation sanctuary to be with your wider self today.
You might ask a question,
Share something on your heart,
Or simply listen and be with and see what arises.
There is no right or wrong way to be with.
Nothing needs to happen here.
Whatever arises,
Trust and love what's here now,
And know that you're nourishing a vital relationship each time you connect with your wider self,
Or the Great Mother,
Or again whatever word of the divine feels good to you.
So I'll leave you now for this connection.
Knowing you can return here anytime,
Begin to bring your conversation to a close.
I'll give you another moment to offer gratitude to your wider self,
Or whomever you are with,
For being here with you today,
And then say your farewells.
Being with your wisest,
Most loving self in meditation sanctuary can be a great place to seed intentions,
Seek guidance,
Be with emotions,
Connect with a younger self,
Explore your deep depths and wide ranges while being witnessed and held in divine love.
It's a place where all is welcome,
And it's safe to be exactly as you are.
So I encourage you practicing to go here often,
A few minutes each day.
You are developing relationships with your wider self,
With the Great Mother,
Divine love,
And with the great web of all beings,
All life.
So,
Turning to close,
We received a lot from the Great Mother in our practice today,
And because it's rarely modeled in the overculture where extraction from the earth is commonplace,
I want to gently remind us that being in right relationship with the Great Mother doesn't look like coming to her solely when we need grounding energy to feel more centered.
We can make offerings to her during our weeks,
Intentionally cultivating and nurturing right relationship over time,
Which is reciprocal.
Offerings could be sharing a song,
A prayer,
A blessing,
A natural offering like water,
Flowers,
Plants,
Stones,
Food,
A piece of hair.
It could be to listen,
To offer gratitude and reverence.
Whatever form the offering,
It's the intention behind it which is the most important.
I'm returning now to our breath without changing it,
Simply inviting our attention back to our breath,
To our body.
In grounding today,
We practiced experiencing what it feels like in our bodies to be deeply connected with spirit,
With earth,
With the web of life,
With love.
Placing your attention now to wherever your body is making contact with the surface.
We know this truth,
The sacredness of all life in our bones,
In our hearts,
Through embodied knowing.
We can perceive things here that we wouldn't otherwise from thinking minds.
And slowly wiggling your fingers and toes,
Taking your time as we transition from this practice.
And when you feel ready,
Slowly,
Slowly opening your eyes and noticing the transition between the realm of eyes closed into the realm of eyes open.
Allowing your gaze to be soft.
And I invite you to gently scan your environment with your eyes.
Is there something in your vision that connects you with the great web?
Perhaps there's a tree out your window,
A spider in the corner,
A photograph or artwork,
Your own hand.
Whatever your eyes are pulled towards in this moment,
Trust your intuition.
And placing hands on heart,
As you see this reminder in your waking life,
Your physical,
Embodied,
Tactile life.
Let's breathe together one more time as you connect what's in front of you now with what you experienced in meditation sanctuary today.
Breathing in,
Allow spaciousness and presence as you go from here to whatever next unfolds in your day.
You might want to soak it in a bit longer.
Trust your body's inclinations.
Thank you for being here.
Go well into your day rooted with the great mother and heart connected with the great web of life.
