Free Yourself from Pain Breathing in a conscious way is one of our most powerful resources because it enables us to draw in the power of the universe.
And when that power is combined with focused attention,
We are capable of performing wonders.
We can use the power of our breath to clean our minds,
Brains,
Organs and cells,
Removing unwanted toxic energy in the process.
And as we clear out the muck of the past and of our mistakes,
We naturally become connected to the superhighway of infinite possibilities.
Imagine now that you are breathing in light with every in-breath.
The light fills you with immense power as it passes through your nostrils,
Into your lungs and is dissipated throughout the body,
Leaving no sinew or cell untouched.
And as you breathe out,
You are breathing out a gaseous substance which has gathered up all the muck and toxins from every part of the body,
Which is then being discharged out of your nostrils or your mouth.
Out into the world.
Now,
For a little while,
See if you can stand inside this image,
Experiencing the light being taken in with every in-breath and the gaseous substance being released with every out-breath.
In this meditation,
You're going to use your mind and the power you've imbibed through your conscious breathing to repair and heal emotional issues that are still running your life.
As a result,
You're going to balance your system in such a way that your emotions become what they are meant to be,
Messengers and healers,
Highlighting what you still need to see,
Understand and learn,
And also what you need to let go of.
As you listen,
Follow the guidance as best as you can,
And allow your mind to become deeply immersed in this beautiful healing process.
Please remember this is a safe space and you have nothing to fear.
Everything that follows will lead you to a beautiful ending,
One of resolution and peace.
It's now time to think of a memory,
As clearly as you can,
That is uncomfortable for you to hold in your awareness.
It's important to note this is not about punishment.
You're not focusing on this memory to chastise yourself or engage in self-harm.
To the contrary,
This is about moving on,
Freedom,
Restoring balance and creating clarity.
So take some time now to really connect with a moment in time that causes some dis-ease and discomfort.
Try to connect with that feeling so deeply you feel as if you are back there,
Re-experiencing that moment.
The memory that your mind has taken you back to is the one you need to focus on today.
Notice how you're feeling as you reflect on this moment.
Notice how you're breathing.
Often,
When we reflect on things that make us feel uncomfortable,
Our breathing becomes quick and shallow,
And the mind wants to wander and distract itself.
This is a natural response to pain,
Discomfort or trauma.
But do your very best to stick with this memory and whatever feelings you are experiencing.
Try not to let your mind wander off.
Find the courage to stay with whatever you're feeling.
In the silence that follows,
Notice the sensations in your body.
Become aware of them,
Connect with them,
And you will hear they are saying something to you.
They are trying to guide you.
Listen in,
And you'll hear their pleas.
What is it that those sensations and feelings are saying to you?
Don't be afraid of the answer or answers to this question.
Because the more we run away from our past experiences,
The more we will find them waiting for us around the next corner,
Reminding us that we did not take the lessons they came to offer,
Or we did not make peace in the way they invited us to.
This memory,
This experience that you have been connecting with,
Is a messenger and a teacher.
It is ready to become part of your past.
It just asks you to take the lessons with you into the present and the future,
And to leave the rest behind.
So,
For a little while longer,
Really connect with what has come into your awareness.
Connect with any denial or fear that you may feel.
Connect with any feelings of shame,
Or whatever it is that is disturbing your mind and denying you peace.
Do this now.
Whatever has emerged will offer you some guidance and direction.
It may not be immediately clear to you,
But the more you listen in,
The more the scales will fall from your eyes.
Listening in in this way enables you to notice that there is a cacophony of sound trying to be heard,
And there is a perpetual stream of consciousness filled with so much information and insight.
But if we're not listening,
Connecting,
Feeling,
We move aimlessly,
Through our lives.
To free ourselves from the relentless loop of self-loathing,
We need to face the truth about ourselves with kindness,
Patience and love.
Just do this for a little while longer.
The memory that you started with,
No longer has a negative hold over you,
Because you have listened keenly,
And any disease and discomfort has been replaced with insight and clarity.
You feel that you are no longer buried under the weight of your regret guilt,
Shame,
Or any other negative emotion you once felt.
By looking back with honesty and compassion,
Your spirit has been lifted out of the darkness.
For the next little while,
Just imagine yourself breathing in the power,
The light and wonder of the universe.
And once again,
See it being dissipated throughout the body,
Flowing through every sinew and cell.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine all the sadness,
Hurt,
Pain,
Trauma,
And any anger that you feel is transformed into that gaseous substance,
And is discharged through your nostrils or your mouth.
You have now released yourself from the grip of a memory and experience that kept you bound to the past.
And by deeply connecting with the feelings attached to this experience,
You have learnt what you needed to learn.
You now know that you can do this with any past event that torments you.
You realise you never need to be held hostage to your past,
And you can face the truth about yourself with courage and honesty.
With kindness,
Patience and love.
And so you do.
Not just today,
But in all the days to come.
