Hello and a warm welcome to Inside Timer.
I am Rahul Singh.
You may be sitting still while everything inside you is rushing.
The message,
The task,
The decision.
The thing you forgot.
The thing that might happen next.
And suddenly,
It all feels like it needs you now.
When the nervous system feels rushed.
Time begins to feel scarce.
Everything feels important.
Everything feels immediate.
But urgency is a feeling,
It is not always a fact.
Sometimes,
Urgency says,
If I do not handle this now,
Something will go wrong.
I will fall behind.
I will disappoint someone.
I will lose control.
But the feeling of urgency is not always telling you the truth.
So before you decide what needs your attention,
Slow the body first.
Feel your feet.
Feel the weight of your body.
Notice what is supporting you.
Take a slow breath in.
And let the exhale leave gently.
Again.
Breathing in,
And slowly breathing out.
Notice the signs of rushing.
The tight jaw?
The lifted shoulders,
The shallow breath.
The tension in the hands.
Let the jaw soften,
Drop the shoulders,
Loosen the hands.
Allow the exhale to lengthen.
You do not need to move at the speed of your anxiety.
Now bring to mind what feels urgent,
Not everything.
Just the sense that too much needs to happen at once.
Ask yourself.
What actually needs me now?
Not later today.
Not eventually.
Now.
Perhaps there is one thing.
Perhaps there is nothing.
Now ask.
What can wait?
And finally.
.
.
What is not mine to carry.
Let the mind sort things gently.
No.
Later.
Not mine.
A rushed mind treats everything equally.
But everything is not equally important.
Something can matter without needing to happen now.
If there is something to do,
What is the next actual step?
Not the whole problem,
Not the whole day.
Just the next step.
And if nothing needs to happen right now,
Let nothing happen.
Not every demand deserves immediate access to you.
Slowing down is not falling behind.
Pausing is not neglect.
You do not become clearer by carrying everything at once.
You become clearer when you stop treating every demand as an emergency.
Silently remind yourself.
Not everything that feels urgent needs me now.
Again?
Not everything that feels urgent needs me now.
Feel the body receive that.
There is time to pause.
Time to choose.
Time to respond instead of react.
Take one more slow breath in.
And let the exhale soften the body.
Then ask yourself.
What truly matters next.
Let the answer be simple.
Wanting.
One step.
Or perhaps nothing yet.
You are allowed to move at the pace of what is actually required.
Not at the pace of fear.
Not at the pace of pressure.
Not at the pace of everything asking for you at once.
Choose what matters.
Let the rest wait.
And remember.
You do not need to move at the speed of your anxiety.
