Welcome everyone to our time together.
So we're going to do a relaxation practice today and we're going to focus on what's called organizing the chi field.
And when we organize the chi field we're going to use the power of our consciousness to not only connect with our own bodies but also connect to the life force energy of nature.
From there we are going to also do a practice called lower dantian breathing.
And in lower dantian breathing we're going to breathe in through our navel bringing in that life force energy into our lower dantian,
Our lower energy center located behind the navel closer to the spine.
Then we're going to exhale through the center of both legs out of the bottoms of the feet and deep into Mother Earth.
So I'm going to guide us through that but for now let yourself find any comfortable position.
You're more than welcome to remain seated.
You can lay down.
You can also stand.
But this is a static practice meaning the body does not move.
And when the body doesn't move then we use the power of the mind.
So we move the mind to guide the life force energy.
So I'm going to guide us for those that are seated and you can modify as you wish.
So as we come together let's take a few moments to really settle in to this moment.
So giving ourselves full permission to say yes to being here.
Knowing we have set this time aside for our health,
Our healing,
Our progress.
There's actually really nothing that we need to do.
Nowhere that we have to go and no story we need to tell.
And in this knowing the body naturally relaxes and as the body relaxes the mind expands.
In this expansion we allow for the body to naturally open.
As we open we dissolve any holding,
Any density.
So perceiving already this physical body expanding from the center.
So for many of us we can imagine or connect to our spines.
So as you draw the inward awareness sense that spinal alignment.
Raising the top of the head.
Simultaneously tucking the chin down and back.
Imagining a vertical pillow behind your head.
Already sensing the neck vertebrae opening.
Releasing any holding.
We relax the chest.
Let the hands rest face down or face up on your upper legs.
Allow some space between your ribs and arms.
Connecting to diaphragmatic breath.
We allow the ribcage to expand not only to the front but also to the sides and the back.
Tuck in your lower abdomen.
Still honoring the curve of your low back.
Imagine your tailbone connected to Mother Earth.
We raise what's called the Hui Yin.
This is the Yin gate.
The space between the genitalia and the anus.
For both men and women a gentle lift inside.
Not a tightening or a squeezing.
In the beginning simply becoming aware of this area and it will already be activated.
Connecting to your pelvis.
I invite you to imagine your pelvis like a bowl.
So we don't tilt the bowl too far forward or too far back.
We want to feel it centered.
Relax the buttocks as we open the knees to shoulder width.
Take a moment to feel your feet connected to the earth.
You're more than welcome to move your toes.
Already sending this neural information to where your feet are in space.
In this posture we perceive the expansion in all directions.
So feeling an equal expansion through the front of the body as we do the back.
Equal to the left and the right.
Also simultaneously up and down.
So in this position again we open in all directions.
Feeling the body as empty yet not empty.
From here those with eyes open I invite you to close your eyes if comfortable.
Draw your attention to the center of your head.
The home of the mind.
As you step inside continue to transform any thinking,
Any restlessness.
Setting aside the thoughts,
The cares,
The worries.
Again acknowledging your willingness to be here now.
Fully entering inside the center of your head.
Now from the center of the head the mind shines throughout the entire body.
From the top of the head down to the bottoms of the feet.
From deep inside to outside.
Integrating and harmonizing all layers of your body in oneness.
Again opening to the spaciousness inside.
Quiet.
From the center of the head notice the space throughout your head,
Neck,
Abdomen,
Legs,
Feet and toes.
Notice the space throughout both shoulders.
Perceiving this space as bright,
Light,
Transparent,
Even.
The mind expands out even more.
Expanding from your center up through the top of the head,
Through the ceiling,
Up to the blue sky.
Expanding downward through the center of both legs,
Out of the bottoms of the feet,
Deep into the earth,
Through the center of Mother Earth.
To the other side,
To the blue sky.
Expanding through the front of the body,
The back,
The left and the right.
Opening beyond your perceived physical boundaries.
Perceive the space surrounding your body now.
Allowing yourself to expand out even more.
Continuing to open to nature.
In this expansive state,
Forget the physical.
Expand as far as the mind will take you.
Naturally dissolving all borders,
Boundaries,
Conditions,
Names.
In this spaciousness,
You are the universe.
Infinite possibilities.
And in this space,
Ask yourself,
What is it that I truly desire?
In this realm of infinite possibilities,
Your desire is already manifested.
Already here.
Give yourself full permission to perceive your desire already here.
Already done.
Already here.
And from this oneness,
When you are ready,
Draw your awareness,
Stepping back inside the body.
And now I invite you to continue and lower dantian breathing.
First,
A mindful exhalation.
And with your inhalation,
Imagining the breath penetrating through your navel,
Into the space behind the navel,
Your lower energy center.
Let the chi,
The life force,
Circulate behind the navel.
And when you're ready to exhale,
Exhale through the center of both legs,
Out of the bottoms of the feet.
Exhaling deep into the center of Mother Earth.
When you are ready to inhale,
Breathing in through the navel,
Allow the life force to circulate through the space behind your navel.
And when you're ready to exhale,
Releasing through the center of both legs,
Out of the bottoms of the feet.
Again,
Deep into the earth.
Now,
Continue at your own rhythm.
Breathing in through the navel,
Allowing this breath,
This life force to circulate inside and exhaling through the center of both legs.
Out of the bottoms of the feet.
We'll continue for a few minutes.
Relax.
Whole body.
Relaxed.
Relaxing the forehead.
The jaw.
Relaxing the shoulders.
Chest.
Relaxing the fingers.
Relaxing the abdomen.
Continuing to receive the life force energy inside.
And now,
On your own time,
Continue with one more full cycle.
And when you are ready,
Gently guide your palms towards the navel.
Right hand first for women,
Left for men.
Aligning the center of both palms with the navel.
Nourishing Chi.
Nourishing Chi.
Where the mind goes,
Life force follows.
We nourish the space behind the navel for our physical health.
And slowly,
When you're ready,
Gently open the hands and slowly open the eyes.
