Today is the time of Mahashirartri in India. We are reminded to stay wakeful on our spiritual journeys. It is easier to stay awake all night than to do the deeper work of observing our thoughts and actions and witnessing when the ego raises. Premasudha emphasizes the importance of accepting our dense emotions, like anger, or experience lust. The important thing is what we do with it. Many people stay at the bottom of the spiritual mountain because they judge themselves too harshly for even experiencing these kind of emotions. But often they are signs of awakening out of numbness! Still, anger can be destructive so it is best if we can witness our anger and decide what to do with it, such as channel it into creativity or going for a walk, rather than take it out on others. This kind of control takes practice but it is achievable. Premasudha's use of humour and her acceptance of humaness helped everyone in the satsang feel lighter.
