Little kids,

When they're getting hurt emotionally within their families,

They will go up into their heads and try to figure it out.

And gradually over time,

Most times in our culture in the West,

We'll decide that our hearts aren't so safe,

That we're safer in our heads.

So as adults,

We actually run from the wisdom of our hearts because it wasn't met when we were kids.

We ended up feeling it was disallowed.

Now really,

This is what happens to us unless our parents are self-realized and fully awake.

And you know,

Most parents are too busy earning money to be so awake.

But anyway,

I just want to talk about this lodging in our heads.

So I look around and I go,

This is the problem with our culture because we are getting so good about doing scientific studies so that we know so much,

But we don't act on it.

And one of the things that we know about is if we don't take really good care of little kids from zero to six,

Give them lots of safety,

Lots of attention,

You know,

Singing,

Play,

That they grow up into basically wounded,

Unhappy adults.

We know this,

But we don't act on it.

If you look around,

We know better about everything,

Really.

We know better about how to take care of mother nature,

But maybe we don't act on it.

Now the thing is we don't have control over the larger culture,

But you've got control over your own life.

So you know,

It's basically up to us individuals to move forward,

To come out of the deer in the headlights and start acting on what we know.

You know,

This can be terrifying because what happens is all the experiences we had as kids where it wasn't safe to just come from the heart can rise up as our egos basically flood us with don't do this,

Don't do this.

But our egos are flooding us with this because our egos want to survive.

I mean,

If we start moving into more truth,

Our egos die.

They certainly get smaller and finally,

If we keep going,

They will die entirely.

So our egos have a vested interest in the status quo.

Now this can be kind of tough when you're going along and you just wanting to move into truth and you,

You know,

You take a step forward and the ego screams.

But I'll tell you the more you just keep going on this journey,

The more you get skilled at it and the more you recognize,

Oh,

The ego's just fussing.

Oh well,

Because the thing is that we're going along so merrily along some tracks that we know are not taking us to a good place.

So I mean,

We're either going to wake up and start acting on what we know individually until enough of us are doing it,

That the culture changes or we're going to walk into like a,

You know,

Big trouble in our society.

I just want to spell this out because really to the sages I've studied with and now to me this is like two plus two equals four.

That if we don't start really listening to our deeper intelligence,

Our hearts,

You know,

We're going to get whacked basically.

We're going to get whacked by Mother Nature and actually by the universe because,

You know,

Our job here is to embody our truth.

We're divine beings in human form.

Our job is to wake up to this.

Okay,

Well,

You know,

I just want to encourage you,

Please,

You know,

Just try coming from your heart a little bit more.

Try listening to the still small voice and following it.

Okay,

Bless your hearts.

Children can be little terrorists at times and negotiating with them is so fascinating when you take the time to listen to their requests. Iโ€™m always surprised when I try something new to see what works to get them to behave and get along. But in all the chaos I look in their eyes and see their smiles or frowns and I think about how much they rely on me to keep it together. Ever since your talk about loving them anyway, just love them! Iโ€™ve been searching deeper for ways to let them be them but still placing boundaries and where they need to go and changing my tone of voice. Love it and thank you Premasudha for the reminders. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ
