Welcome to this emotional release guided practice.
I want you to begin by sitting down.
Your legs can be crossed or your feet can be on the floor,
Whatever is most comfortable.
And I want you to think about your intention for doing this session today.
What are some things that are going on for you right now?
What are the thoughts that you keep having or emotions that you keep experiencing?
What are the ruminating thoughts that keep popping up?
Once you become clear on your intention for this session,
You may close your eyes and we will begin.
Begin by tuning into your body,
Taking a nice deep breath in and sighing it out,
Relaxing your shoulders and begin to notice any sensations that you're feeling in your body,
Bringing awareness wherever you can to whatever you're feeling.
Feeling the surface beneath you and how it's holding you,
The feeling of your clothes touching your skin,
Anything else that you can notice in your body.
And now I want you to think back on the intention you set before beginning.
What is the first thought that comes into your mind?
Are there any emotions attached to that thought that you start to feel?
What sensation are you experiencing in your body right now connected to this thought?
If you could name the sensation you're feeling,
What emotion would fit it best?
Now whatever is coming up for you,
I want you to view and to feel without any judgment.
Everything that comes forward is valid and is a part of your experience,
Your growth,
Your learning.
So remember that it's all okay and it's all welcome.
Where exactly are you feeling this emotion in your body?
It could be multiple places,
But focus in on one.
What does this emotion look like?
Is it big?
Is it small?
Is it a symbol?
Is it energetic?
It could be anything.
What color is this emotion showing up as?
And what shape is this emotion?
It could even be shapeless.
And what texture is this emotion?
Is it smooth?
Is it spiky?
Is it sticky?
Feel into everything that this emotion is.
Remember that emotions are a normal part of the human experience.
Everyone experiences them.
And it's totally normal to feel whatever it is that you're feeling.
Part of the things with feeling and actually being able to release our emotions is coming to a state of acceptance that we are having them and that they are here for a reason.
So in this next exercise,
It's quick,
Rapid fire.
The first thought that comes to your brain is the answer.
Don't overthink it.
Now I want you to ask yourself,
How can you accept the emotions that are occurring within you?
How can you best accept the experience of the thoughts that are happening right now?
Why is it safe to allow yourself to experience this emotion?
Why are you grateful for this emotion in your body?
Finding the answers to these questions helps you acknowledge your own strengths and the virtues that you possess so that you can become confident and empowered in your emotional experience in feeling these emotions.
And now for the final release.
Every time you inhale,
I want you to imagine you're breathing into this emotion wherever it sits in your body.
And as you exhale,
You're releasing it through your breath.
This might take some time.
For some,
It could take one or two breaths to release it all.
And for others,
It might take 10 to 15 breaths.
Whatever feels great for you is what's right.
Okay,
Are you ready?
We're going to take a big,
Deep breath in through our nose,
Bringing that breath right into where the emotion is sitting.
And a big sigh it out,
Pushing that emotion out of our system.
Do it one more time.
Big,
Deep breath in,
Right into that spot.
And sigh it out,
Releasing that emotion.
I'll give you some time now to take some more breaths as needed.
And when you feel complete,
You may open your eyes.
Thank you for joining me today.
And I hope you feel a lot lighter.
I'll see you next time.
