Welcome to Day 18 Rooting Restlessness.
Begin by feeling at home where you are right now.
Take a look around.
If you want you can close your eyes and listen to the sounds.
Just listen without having to change anything.
Now turn away from the outside and turn your attention inside.
What's going on in your breath?
Follow your breath as carefully as you can throughout the body.
Inhaling all the way from the toes up through your belly,
Chest,
Throat and head.
And then exhale like a wave of relaxation flowing down through your body.
Let your shoulders drop.
You can release some of the tension,
Some of these armour plates.
With every breath release some energy,
Gain some clarity and transform your nerves of steel into nerves of light.
Do you have a hard time sitting still sometimes with restless legs?
When I was a child I was often told in school that I had ants in my pants.
But instead of teaching me how to use these ants,
How to harness this energy to something useful,
I was told to just sit still and ignore it.
Which didn't help,
But was one of the ways I disconnected my mind from my body.
So instead of just ignoring the restlessness,
I suggest you root your restlessness connected with your breath.
Take deep breaths throughout the body,
All the way down from the ants in the legs up to the belly,
Chest and head.
And exhale,
Exhale your restlessness deep into the ground.
And move,
Shake your hands and feet a little bit.
You don't have to sit still to meditate.
We're actually never completely still.
As long as your heart is beating,
Your breath is filling you,
You're in movement,
Life is moving within you.
Just breathe,
Let the thoughts and feelings come to rest,
Invite them for a cup of tea in your heart.
Let all the bodily sensations flow freely,
There's no need to change anything,
No need to resist,
Control anything.
Just be.
Let yourself to be at peace.
Congratulations you have finished day 18.
The ants are happy.
