Green Tara: Healing Energy

In this practice, we use the healing energy of Green Tara to unblock any stagnant energy that is no longer serving us. Tara's mantra brings us instant relief, protects us from negative thinking, and helps us think compassionately about both, ourselves and others.

In this meditation we will be working with Green Tara's compassionate energy.

So close your eyes and now follow your breath.

Watch the breath rise and fall.

Allow all tension to drain from your body.

Just relax and release any stress.

Release it from your head and neck.

Relax your shoulders,

Arms and hands.

Release the tension in your chest,

Back,

Belly,

Your legs and feet.

Let it drain away.

And let your mind rest too.

If thoughts come,

Simply observe them.

Thoughts do not like to be watched.

Watching the thoughts causes them to dissolve.

Now let go of everything.

Let go of the walls,

The roof,

Even the floor.

Just let it all melt away.

Imagine you are sitting quietly in a vast empty space.

Just you,

Here with infinity stretching in all directions.

Nothing to hinder or block you.

And into this stillness we now invite Tara.

Tara's mantra,

Om Tari Tu Tari Tu Re So Ha,

Brings instant relief,

Protects you from negative thinking,

And will fill you with compassion for yourself and for others.

And let's call in Tara together.

Om Tari Tu Tari Tu Re So Ha.

Om Tari Tu Tari Tu Re So Ha.

Om Tari Tu Tari Tu Re So Ha.

And Green Tara has heard your call.

She always hears this call.

The instant that you call,

She's already answered.

Directly in front of you at your heart level,

Imagine a pool of brilliant white light.

A pool that is radiant,

Luminescent,

Glowing like the light of the full moon.

As you focus on this light,

A magnificent,

Golden lotus flower appears in the center of the pool.

And the lotus petals begin to open.

They open in many layers,

Much like a rose opens.

And now in the center of that golden lotus,

A being appears.

A beautiful woman.

She sits with one leg extended.

Her body is made of emerald green light.

And rays of green light are shimmering all around her.

Her timeless face changes from youthful 16-year-old girl to mature woman to an ancient crone.

And back to a 16-year-old girl.

Meet the goddess,

Green Tara.

She smiles at you,

And you can hear her voice in your mind.

I am the mother who birthed,

Nourished,

And continues to nurture you.

I am the grandmother,

Keeper of the wisdom who guides you.

I am the sister who joins hands,

Tears,

And laughter with yours.

I am unconditional love,

Who opens your heart to see the value in every person.

I am the friend who stands beside you and gives good counsel.

I am the warrior who defends and protects you.

I am goddess,

Who hears your prayers and answers them.

Now imagine you hear her ask,

What do you need?

And now think of your answer.

What you yourself need in this moment in time?

Is it health?

Financial security?

Better relationships?

Emotional or spiritual healing?

Let your answer come from your heart,

And know you are heard.

Now imagine that the rays of emerald light are shimmering and expanding around her.

This light fills the area all around you,

Like a mist,

Like a cloud.

It fills the area all around you,

Like a mist of glittering green light.

And as you breathe,

Her essence enters into you.

Imagine her healing light filling your body,

Soothing your mind,

Entering your heart.

Everywhere the light goes,

It brings healing.

It brings harmony.

It removes obstacles.

Om Tare Ture Soha.

And now in a profound way,

You are merged with Green Tara.

That is part of the gift of her healing.

Green Tara's heart of compassion is now your heart.

And Green Tara now looks out through your eyes.

You are her emissary.

And you have the power to share her healing.

So is there someone in your life,

Someone you care about that would benefit from her healing?

Call them to mind now.

Whatever their challenge,

Now is the time.

Just as we did for ourselves,

Let's offer deep healing to them.

Imagine this person and let your heart overflow with compassion.

Imagine healing green light surrounding them and easing their burdens.

Imagine them feeling stronger,

Comforted,

And healed in body,

Mind,

And spirit.

Breathe and allow it to happen.

And now release this cherished person,

Knowing that a great healing has occurred.

And allow yourself to feel relief for them.

And lastly,

We send green Tare's healing light to someone we don't know.

We can do this with our intention,

Because there is no difference between someone we know and a stranger and ourselves.

We are all connected by the essence of our being.

By cosmic consciousness,

We are one.

So imagine being lifted upward.

There are no barriers to your sight.

Gently you go higher until all of your city is visible below you.

And higher until all of your continent is visible to you.

And go higher still so that every place on earth is visible to you.

Now simply breathe and shower the light without reservation on all who need it.

Out there are people asking for help this very moment.

Whatever they need,

We breathe Tare's healing light to them.

Imagine surprised people looking up wondering what just happened.

One moment they were sad or lonely or unwell,

And now they feel better.

Just imagine it and allow it.

And bring your focus back to your body.

And let Tare's mantra aloud.

Allowing the last of these vibrations to settle into your being.

And when you are ready,

Open your eyes.
