Welcome to this Juneteenth meditation.

This meditation can be completed on Juneteenth or any day that you recognize your journey towards equity,

Freedom,

Liberation.

Let's begin by finding a comfortable seated position,

Allowing the spine to lengthen and the shoulders to relax.

Close your eyes gently or soften your gaze if that feels more comfortable to you.

Take a few deep breaths,

Inhaling deeply through the nose and exhaling fully and slowly through the mouth.

As we bring our awareness to this moment,

Let us reflect on the significance of Juneteenth,

A day of remembrance and celebration of freedom.

In this meditation,

We honor the journey towards equity and liberation.

Feel the gentle rhythm of your breath,

A reminder of the life force that connects us all.

With each inhale,

Imagine drawing in the energy of resilience and hope.

With each exhale,

Release any tension or heaviness you may be carrying.

Now bring your attention to nature.

Picture yourself surrounded by the beauty of the natural world,

Trees swaying in the breeze,

Birds singing their song of freedom.

Allow yourself to feel grounded,

Rooted in the earth like the trunk of a tree.

As we contemplate the present moment,

Let us acknowledge the progress we have made and the work that still lies ahead.

Juneteenth invites us to reflect on the past,

Honor the struggles of those who came before us,

And commit to creating a more just and equitable future.

With each breath,

Embrace the essence of this moment,

Its challenges,

Its possibilities,

And its infinite potential for transformation.

Let us hold space for gratitude,

For growth,

And for the collective journey towards freedom and equality.

Take a few more deep breaths,

Feeling a sense of peace,

Of grace,

And of empowerment,

Allowing these sensations to wash over you.

When you are ready,

In your own time,

Gently open your eyes,

Carrying this contemplative energy with you as you continue on your path and throughout your day.
