Hello and welcome to your soft pleasure practice for this month.
As always,
These practices are completely invitational,
And you have complete agency over the practice and yourself.
Today's practice is called Sensing the Nectar.
We will begin in any kind of comfortable seated position,
Allowing yourself to make any adjustments that may allow you to feel 5-10% more comfortable where you are.
Sometimes this is a really good place to begin when it comes to pleasure.
We don't have to seek really intense sensations,
But even just making little micro adjustments in our body,
Grabbing an extra pillow,
Taking out our hair if it's too tight,
Little gestures like this can invite a little bit more pleasure and softness into the body.
In today's practice,
All my words will be invitations.
This practice today is going to be inviting some gentle self-touch,
But this body that you inhabit is yours.
You decide when and where you are going to be touched.
We are going to be using the concept and the visualization of nectar to guide us in the direction of pleasant self-touch,
And we are going to be using our desire as a compass to where we would like to be touched.
So I will invite you where to begin,
And then wherever it is that is calling to you,
Think of it as a compass steering you in that direction.
So when you are ready to begin,
I invite you to start lightly touching your hands to each other,
Perhaps opening one palm and then using the fingers of the other hand to gently stroke and touch the palm.
Maybe starting from the top and stroking downwards,
Maybe drawing spirals,
Maybe you trace the outline of your hand.
You can switch at any point,
Going back and forth between your hands from one to the other.
Maybe touching the backs of the hands,
The very tips of the fingers.
And from here as we gently touch our skin,
I'm going to invite you to tune in and sense the nectar,
Which is any kind of sensation that is arising that feels pleasant for you today.
At any point,
If there are sensations of discomfort or pain,
Just discontinue the touch of that area,
And perhaps just take a break or move to a different part of your body that is calling out to you.
So as you touch your hands,
You may feel pleasant sensations.
Think of this like a golden nectar.
As you touch,
The nectar illuminates like sunshine through honey.
And as any sensations get stronger,
Almost imagining that this nectar is covering your hands and your skin,
Lighting up any of the nerve fibers in your hands.
Perhaps you may feel the nectar somewhere else in your body while you touch your hands.
Notice where the nectar is for you.
The nectar is quite sweet,
And it fills the spaces right underneath the surface of your skin.
When you feel ready,
We are now going to touch over our wrists and our forearms,
Just taking gentle strokes,
Or perhaps some pressure if that feels good today.
The amazing thing about gently caressing our skin is that our skin contains so many nerve fibers.
So it's almost like every single person's body is a map,
And the way they experience sensation in this map of nerve fibers is unique to each and every individual.
And when we stimulate these pathways,
When we stimulate our skin and touch our skin,
It actually is an investment in the future of our pleasure.
Because we can actually begin to strengthen and grow new nerve fibers in the places that we are touching.
So gently stroking with your fingertips,
And perhaps even your palms,
Along the wrists and over your forearms.
Again,
If any other areas are calling out to you,
Follow that desire.
Follow the nectar.
If you're following along with the sound of my voice,
We're going to come up to our neck.
Maybe tracing behind the ears,
Down one side of the neck,
Perhaps sweeping our hand across our chest,
And up the other side of the neck,
And behind that earlobe.
There's really no wrong or right way to do this.
Just allowing yourself to touch your body in the way you would like to be softly touched today.
Tuning in and sensing that nectar.
Imagine your body and your skin being coated and filled with this sweet nectar as you gently touch it.
Perhaps you would like to touch your face now,
Maybe going up the center of the forehead,
And then sweeping out and down around the outline of your face.
Maybe even touching your scalp and massaging your head,
Imagining the nectar filling your crown.
Wherever your fingers touch,
Honey rises,
Honey coats.
Something so simple such as touching our skin can actually release a lot.
You can create subtle sensations which lead to big changes if we do them most days.
So now I've invited you to touch your hands,
Your wrists and forearms,
Your neck,
Your chest,
And your face and your head.
Maybe spending a little bit of time now to tune into where you are hearing the call of this sweet nectar in your body,
And spending a little time to attend to that area.
Perhaps it's an area we have already touched,
Or somewhere completely new.
Maybe even running your hands up and down your thighs,
Taking a deep breath in,
Allowing the breath to soften as you exhale,
Allowing the nectar to fill your body,
Sensing where it is for you today in this very moment.
If this practice feels really good,
You may like to continue,
Maybe play a song and continue to gently touch your body.
Otherwise allowing the practice to soften away,
Coming back to the breath,
Feeling the poetry of pleasure circulating in your body,
And moving forward into your day as the embodiment of pleasure and sensuality.
