Hi and welcome.
This is a meditation for letting go of stress and anxiety.
And I want to take you through what it's like to let the body go and to breathe with ease,
To ease the mind and add colour,
Add lightness and playfulness to your meditation here today.
So enjoy your special time to release those stresses and anxieties,
Stresses and anxieties that we tend to hold in our minds and bodies.
So make yourself comfortable and it doesn't matter if you wish to sit or lay down,
Whichever is more comfortable for you and your body.
And when you're in a comfortable position,
Your body will naturally want to let you know because your eyes will want to close,
To experience turning inwards and just feeling into the heaviness of your eyes,
Into the heaviness of just relaxing and letting go.
Now soften into your shoulders and let them loosen down,
Feeling heavy,
Loosening and softening.
Move your awareness into your breath and your next inhale,
Fill your lungs out,
Tucking in a deep inhale in through the nose and as you exhale out open your mouth and imagine that you're steaming up a mirror,
Let that breath go,
Giving a big ah breath out,
That's right.
So let's do that again,
Inhaling deeply,
Breathing in in through the nose and as you exhale out open your mouth to release that ah breath,
Well done.
And now just enjoy the natural flow of your breath,
Letting that breath just settle there where it feels just right for you,
Mapping its flow as you breathe without consciously trying to change it in any way,
You're simply just allowing the action of breathing to take you to the next breath and the next and the next,
Enjoying the rhythm of breathing,
The body just breathing,
Allowing your body to breathe on its own and being curious about the areas of the body that move as you fill up the lungs,
Noticing the rising and falling of the chest,
Why there's nothing to do,
Nowhere to be,
Just being here to let the body just breathe with,
Breathe with ease,
Feeling the air that circulates around your body,
The breath of air that moves in towards your nostrils that touches your skin and and your face,
That cooling air that you breathe in and feeding,
What is the feeling and the sound that it makes and where does the airflow touch?
And if you could imagine that airflow was a colour of calmness that you breathe in,
A colour of letting go,
A cleansing colour,
I wonder what that colour would look like and would it be over pale shades and translucent or vibrant and bright?
Breathe in and just let that colour just flow with ease into the body and flowing with ease,
It's so very calming,
It's so very cleansing.
And as the air circulates in and around your body,
Just notice how that colour shifts and changes,
Changing colour,
Changing colour as it collects and absorbs and soaks of all those thoughts that want to take your attention and in particular thoughts that cause you stress or anxiety,
Thoughts that create that uncomfortable feeling in your body.
Now exhale out that colour of release,
Colour of letting go,
That alternate colour,
That changing colour purifying the body with peace and restful waves,
It's like a feeling that you've never known before because the colour of calmness just can't help but soak up those thoughts,
Those feelings,
The more the body wants to hold to resist that change,
The more the body wants to release,
Release until all those thoughts are now just the energy that they are,
Just energy that passes on through,
Just energy that passes on by.
Your body just lets that colour just flow through with ease,
Harmonising and energising you and lifting your body in a playful symphony of colour that runs through you,
Lifting you and creating an inner smile of you,
That's right,
An inner smile,
A smile that gives you that energy and lightness to say to yourself,
I am doing the best that I can,
I am proud of me and I am amazing.
So say those words to yourself,
I am doing the best that I can,
I am proud of me,
I am amazing and take time to let those words settle in because you are all that,
Because you are all that,
Yes you are.
And take this with you as you go about your day,
That calmness of you that smile that will transfer into the world.
And take a few minutes to take a few last breaths as you start to become aware of your body against the ground,
Bringing that smile and that calmness into your day and open your eyes.
