Dynamic stillness continues with two meditations.
One on the breath and word and one on the light.
Please have a comfortable seated position.
Have the spine erect,
Not leaning to one side or another,
Forward or backward.
Be directly in the center.
Allow the eyes to close.
Begin to observe the body.
Check to see if the toes are relaxed,
The feet,
Ankles,
Shins and calves,
Knees,
Thighs,
Hips.
Relax.
Relax the hands,
The wrists,
The forearms and elbows,
The upper arms,
Shoulders.
Relax.
Feel the abdomen and pelvis soft,
The chest relaxed and throat.
And from the base of the spine,
Feel each vertebra directly on top of the other,
Allowing you to reach upward.
Relaxing the neck,
The face,
The jaw,
The eyes.
The forehead and temples,
The scalp.
Allow the entire body to be completely relaxed.
Begin to take in a few deep inhalations and let them out very slowly.
Allow the breath to return to normal.
Observe it as it slowly flows in and out of the nostrils,
Easily,
Without hesitation or strain.
The breath of life.
Just as the ocean gently comes onto the shore and leaves again,
So our breath enters the body and then leaves,
Back and forth,
In and out,
Gently and evenly.
Observe the difference in temperature.
As the breath comes in,
It may feel slightly cool and as the air leaves,
It may feel slightly warm.
The breath is the affirmation of life.
We draw the breath into the body from the outer world and then we send our warmth back into the world.
Notice any outward sounds becoming further and further away as you draw inward.
Begin to silently repeat the special word you have chosen.
Combine it with the in-breath.
Hear the word whispered as the breath comes in.
As the breath leaves,
Allow the word to flow out as a wish to the world.
Keep the mind focused and allow the special word to draw you inward to embrace each part of the body and mind,
Leading you to dynamic stillness.
