
Letting Go Of Pain And Grief

Pain and grief can threaten to overwhelm us. This meditation is a cord-cutting exercise that enables you to release attachments that are no longer serving you. Join Nikki Rhodes as you give space to feel, in order to heal those emotions that are rising in you and find your own centre once again.

Pain can threaten to overwhelm us.
A great tsunami of emotion,
Swallowing us,
Battering us,
Stealing every inch of light from within us until we feel beaten and lost.
This meditation is an invitation to return all of that which is yours back to you.
This meditation is designed as a gift,
A gift you can give to yourself when the darkness threatens to swallow you whole.
Be still,
Brave heart.
Close down your eyes if they aren't already,
And let your hands fall to your sides if you're lying down,
Or drape in your lap if you remain seated.
Gift yourself this time where you are held and supported to let your tears fall from your face,
Without the need for a tissue to cover them up.
Your pain is real,
And although it may feel like it,
You are not alone.
Tune into your breathing as your tears fall.
Allow the soft rhythm of the inhale and the exhale to remind you that a new moment is always around the corner,
And that your grief in this moment is playing an important role.
It's always a dance,
You say.
Dancing on the edge of allowing yourself to feel in order to heal,
And not getting lost,
But tripping up and falling over the edge into the abyss of darkness for which one can't get out of.
This meditation is an invitation for you to step up on that edge and to feel all you need to feel,
Whilst not tripping over the edge and falling into the abyss.
You see there is so much more in store for you.
Letting your pain and your grief to trickle through your system.
Consider for a moment yourself as the observer.
See if you can see the way that the emotion and the feelings run through your body like mini rivers,
Down each arm into the fingers,
Pooling in your heart,
Pooling in your belly.
And see if with your breath you are able to encourage their movement.
It's as if you're permitting them to journey through you,
But they are not of you.
These emotions are an experience,
A temporary taste of existence that enter you and can surprise you with their freshness,
Like a cool stream running off a mountain.
But just as soon as they come in and rush through you,
You notice them also leave you.
You're a multi-dimensional being who has this ability to still feel,
To not bypass,
But to be the observer of this titanic pain that you're experiencing.
Envision now the person.
The person who caused the pain,
The person whom the pain or the grief is associated with standing in front of you.
I'm going to invite you now to return some of the energy that you are investing into this person back to yourself.
Feeling the analogy of cords,
Hooks or tendrils that reach out from key centers within your body and connect to key centers on their body.
Whether this was a loved one,
Or someone that hurt you,
An ex,
Or someone that's passed on to another realm,
The invitation here is to return the energy that you are expending with them back to yourself.
It is to remember your own fullness,
To relight your own fire,
To allow your grief,
But to not get washed away with it.
Think now about your mind and how much of the day or the time is spent thinking about the grief and the pain associated with this person.
This is one of our key centers and I want you to envision long tendrils stretching out from your mind,
Reaching this person's mind.
See in your mind's eye them standing perhaps two to three meters in front of you.
See the hooks that extend right out and twist and turn,
Connect you with them and lovingly let them know that you are returning this energy,
This mental expenditure back to yourself.
That you love them,
They will always be in your thoughts,
But right now you need to give yourself some of this life force back.
You see them smile as you do this and realise that they too are happy,
That your energy is being claimed as your own.
Drop down now into your heart space and see if you can envision just how many links,
Hooks,
Tendrils,
Connections,
Vines are reaching out and are holding onto the heart of this person in front of you.
Allow any emotion to flow as you send yourself compassion and love for the generosity for which you love another.
Lovingly let them know that it's time to return these hooks to your own heart,
That you long to feel full with your own energy,
Not preoccupied by pain.
And envision each hook exiting their heart and coming back into your own.
As you do you feel a fullness return to yourself and yet once again you see them smile,
Knowing that you are doing what's right for you,
Knowing that you love them,
Knowing that it's time.
Now drop down into your gut,
Into your centre,
Your intuition,
Your place of sovereignty and see how many links,
Vines,
Tendrils are reaching out from this place,
Connecting to this person.
See if you can lovingly extract each tendril and bring it back towards yourself,
Noticing your own power return to you,
Noticing a strengthening within your spine,
Perhaps a straightening as you sit up a little taller.
You are still hurting but you are fueling yourself with your own energy again.
This person smiles,
They're pleased you are returning your energy to yourself,
That frees them up as well on an energetic level.
And lastly,
If you're physically intimate with this person perhaps there are connections between your genitals and their genitals,
Links,
Memories,
Energetic imprints where these energies would mix.
If this is the case for you,
Envision those hooks again returning to you,
Sending them love for all the beautiful experiences they gave you,
Finding compassion in your heart to do this with gratitude and positivity rather than bitterness and jealousy or loss,
Thanking them for enriching your life and feeling this warmth in your base,
This greater sense of groundedness,
More secure landing of your soul and purpose,
Knowing your energy in these lower areas has been returned to yourself.
Placing your hands on your heart now,
Feel what it feels like to once again be empowered by your own energy,
Feel what it feels like to not need another to fulfil you,
Feel what it feels like to acknowledge grief but not let it overwhelm you.
You have infinite power and potential to provide any healing yourself needs,
Come back home at any time,
Thanking the person in front of you,
Sending them love and allowing them to walk away,
You may again feel awash with emotion,
You now have the tools to let them walk away whilst you are holding your head up high,
You acknowledge the difficulty of pain,
You acknowledge how hard it is for you to feel whole when your energies are entangled and existing within the body,
In the heart and mind of another being,
And you have the tools to return home at any time,
You are powerful and worthy and you are now connected to yourself.
