Let's begin this unwinding essential practice series.
We're going to start with tapotement.
So what I'd like you to have is a couple balls.
This part is going to be smaller balls that you're going to want.
You want to have something that's even size in each hand.
If you don't have any balls,
You can use your hands.
You can use them as palm pressing or make a fist.
And that works as well.
So this is going to be a combination of what we call tapotement and lymphatic flushing.
So let's start with sitting up on some height.
You can sit on a folded blanket or a bolster.
And we're going to begin with holding onto the balls and having the legs in front of us,
We're just going to slide the feet in so the soles of the feet are close together.
They don't have to be pressing together.
I would say start with tapping into the calves.
And when you begin tapping,
Notice that felt sense of.
Pressure.
And movement.
That's really what massage is.
It's that combination of pressure and movement.
And you've lived in your body for some time.
And so this is the time to begin.
To start to flush out some of that tension.
So this beginning of our unwinding series is simply a collection of tapping techniques.
Tapping and flushing and when we do tapping we create vibration.
And that vibration starts to allow the lymph vessels to drain more easily,
The lymphatic walls.
Or getting a little bit of a wake-up call.
You can feel it waking up into right now just the inner line of the legs.
Liver,
Kidney,
Spleen meridians are on the inner line of the legs.
And now feel where it's very thick and dense.
So kind of towards the very back of your lower leg in that.
The deep belly of your calf.
And then you're going to bring the balls up to the inner thigh.
So as you're tapping here at the inner thigh,
It might be a little bit more.
Responsive.
It kind of is a rebounding.
So I want you to find that tapping so it's high up on the inner thigh.
A little bit inner.
To the inguinal node area.
That's pretty high up,
So you might be just at the border.
So that's a lymphatic point.
There's six lymph points in our body.
The back of our knee.
The leg pit right here.
The abdomen,
The throat.
Armpits.
Okay,
Now I want you to simply cross at your shins if possible.
You can do the rest of this lengthwise.
Flush with sitting in a chair.
You don't have to sit on the floor for what's coming ahead.
And you're going to take the balls up to the pec muscles.
So even though this spot that you're touching is not a lymph point,
It's really important that you tap this area because it brings vibration,
Goes up into the lymph points.
Right up at the collarbone,
Deep collarbone area.
Is where you want to get that stimulation.
So you could make some sounds right now,
Because this is hard.
Kind of a nice,
Joyful experience for the kids.
Chest,
The vibration up into your throat.
You can tip your ear to the shoulder and then the other side.
OK,
Well,
I'm encouraging you go to the center with the two balls.
And then go out to the border to the armpit chest.
So feel right at that border point.
I might feel a little bit little tense like there is a bit of an achiness at the borderline of my chest to my armpit.
So I'm just going to kind of draw the line up a little bit up to the border so I can kind of feel the connection to the joints and the hinges in the body are where the lymph lives is in the hinges.
So you're at the hinge here.
Okay.
And now put the balls down.
Open out the elbows.
So feel the elbows moving back.
Go post.
Let your arms shut down.
Roll the shoulders up.
Back and down,
Even just closing your eyes.
And fielding that movement of the shoulders.
Rolling.
Back and down.
Now tip your head over,
So your ear to one shoulder,
Without holding your shoulders tightly up.
Just let them relax down from your neck.
And then go straight through the middle.
And just feeling the pit here of the heart lifting from the pit of the heart up to the throat.
And then let your ear draw to the other shoulder.
And just considering,
You know,
You've lived in your body for some time,
Just be present.
With this breath experience,
With the centering experience.
Come back center ish.
And let's bring our hands up to our shoulders,
And we're going to cross at the wrist.
And we're going to go in towards more of a double tap.
Pressing.
Towards the armpit chest.
OK,
So kind of feeling,
I've just crossed at my wrist.
Making a fist,
And then tapping.
And now pushing a little forward.
Uncrossing your wrists and let the hands lightly tap the finger pads at your throat.
Butterfly tap.
So in this lymphatic.
Tapping we're doing a blend of brushing and tapping here so it's tap tap tap if it feels better for you to brush brush brush that can feel really good.
So really tune in to yourself.
If the tapping feels too harsh,
Do a little bit of a brush.
Right so our live points on our throat area are.
Besides C1 and C2 vertebrae.
So when we let our chin lower down,
We can start to kind of peek on back to the the back of the neck to the brainstem.
And then at the brainstem,
You're going to go up to the occiput.
That's the doorway into the brain.
Just kind of hang out at that door,
Do a little bit of.
.
.
Knocking at your occiput.
Knocking at the brain's door.
And then we're going to go up.
To the crown and we're going to allow our head to come on up.
So let your head lift,
Feel the tapping so you're making more of a C shape with your hands.
And you're going to go around the sides of your head.
Parietal.
Parietally tapping here.
The parietal.
Bones.
And then let's go ahead and sweep down the face to the cheeks.
And then we'll bring the left arm up and we'll tap to the left armpit and down to the ribs.
Give them a good whack.
They can take it.
Costal sensations,
Those are kind of the steering wheel.
Muscles of your body.
And then go around to the upper part of that side of the stomach.
And then you're going to tap to the belly.
Fill the belly like a balloon.
And then as you relax the belly,
Feel that tapping.
70% of your lymph is in the gut lymphatic.
So this is an important area to give a little bit of love.
And touch into.
And you want to moderate this,
So how much pressure?
Do you alternate tapping?
Do you keep it symmetrically pressing in?
And then we'll go to the other armpit.
Your arm doesn't have to be straight.
It could be bending.
And feeling more hinge,
It could be straight,
And then go down to the ribcage.
And feeling the opportunity to turn a bit.
Now you can almost notice kind of the abdominal.
And the rib.
Kind of sound scape.
Right?
No difference.
Combine them.
Let's turn to our right.
We're going to reach our left hand to our right knee.
And feel that rotation.
In the ribs.
Okay,
So.
The twisting opens the intercostals,
The muscles between the ribs.
Are alive with breath.
Or even alive after breath.
There's the before breath of expansion.
As you enter into the breath,
And then there's the after breath of rotation.
And then feel yourself unwinding.
To the other side.
So this practice has these methods of.
.
.
Unwinding tension.
So I want to kind of keep coming back to that the layers where we actually create an intensity,
Circulation,
And then we.
.
.
We like coal.
So find the in-breath.
Belly moves like an abdome.
It domes.
Maybe eyes closed,
Maybe open.
And then on the out breath,
We relax the grip.
We come back to center.
We center the weight in our sitting bones,
In the front of the sitting bones.
We turn the focus inwards.
And simply feel the circulation.
And the centered being that we are.
OK,
So that gave you an idea of the lymphatic flush work,
A very short,
Brief introduction to it.
And then we're going to start to move into the next part of the series into.
.
.
The myofascial.
And restorative combination.
So we'll call it really myofascial restore combo coming up next.
But that's kind of an intro.
And then we're going to start combining them.
We'll layer them together.
Thank you for being in this practice.
