As this cycle comes to a close, this short walking meditation is an invitation to gently release what no longer fits. In this 4-minute practice, you’ll be guided to notice the places where old roles, patterns, or identities still feel heavy in the body—and to thank them for what they’ve offered. From there, you’ll imagine unzipping the costume you’ve outgrown and stepping forward, lighter and more present. This meditation is especially grounding for leaders, empaths, and anyone sensing that something is ready to be shed—not through force, but through awareness and gratitude. No fixing. No pushing. Just a quiet transition into what’s next.

Welcome to one of my clearing meditations written and created by Nicole Bowden.

This is meant to be a walking meditation,

So if you can,

Get outside to a place where you can walk safely for a few minutes.

If you can't get outside or there isn't a safe place without traffic,

A treadmill will do,

Or also walking in place.

You can also merely visualize.

There is power in movement though,

So if you can shift your energy at any point during the meditation,

Try to move,

Even just standing up.

When you are ready,

Take a deep breath in.

As you breathe in,

Breathe in the light of peace.

As you breathe out,

Breathe out anything heavy you have been carrying.

Allow yourself to breathe rhythmically here.

In and out.

In and out.

Breathing in peace,

Exhaling heavy.

Breathing in peace,

Exhaling heavy.

In and out.

Feel your feet as they touch the ground.

Breathe in,

Take a step.

Breathe out,

Take a step.

Sense your surroundings.

Become fully present to the sounds,

How the temperature feels on your skin,

What the smells are,

And what the solid foundation of the earth feels like below you.

With each step,

You breathe in and you breathe out.

With each step,

You release all that no longer serves you.

Envision now that you are wearing a costume.

The costume represents old you,

All the old ways that once served you but have now become heavy and a burden to your becoming,

To your impact,

Abundance,

Peace,

Connection,

And empowerment.

Notice where this costume feels heavy,

Off,

Like it's not you anymore.

What details do you sense into?

Recognize how much you have outgrown.

Acknowledge yourself for this growth.

Growth is not easy.

Be proud of how far you've come,

Even if you're not where you want to be yet.

Thank this part of you,

This costume for protecting you,

But let it know it's time for it to go.

The costume zips down from the front,

From the very top of your head down to your knees.

On your next step,

Find the zipper now.

Slowly unzip this costume from the top to the bottom.

Let it fall to the ground.

On your next breath,

You step out of it.

Pause here for a moment as you sense the lightness of this.

It's also okay to feel a little fear here.

Remind yourself you've got this and that you are always taken care of.

You look back and you notice the costume is being composted into the earth.

These habits and patterns stop with you.

Continue walking and breathing in rhythm.

How do you sense your surroundings now?

What do you feel?

What do you notice?

Raise your arms up and thank God and the universe for showing you just how wonderful life can be.

You are ready to increase your capacity to receive.

Take another deep breath here and continue to notice your surroundings.

Anchor in this new feeling of lightness.

Envision now a beautiful orb of white light surrounding you.

As you shed,

It's important to remind yourself that you are safe,

That you are protected.

This white orb is available to you at all times.

With deep gratitude for yourself and the world around you,

Commit to allowing more lightness in.

This lightness is key to your expansion.

When you are ready,

This meditation is complete.

When you feel old,

You nudging back,

You can return to this to remind you of your lightness at all times.
