Returning
by Niamh O'Shea
Returning does not happen all at once. It happens in small moments that barely announce themselves. A breath that stays. A sensation you do not move away from. A second longer inside your own body. Returning feels familiar before it feels safe, like recognising yourself in a quiet room after years of speaking softly. You may notice it when your feet feel heavier on the ground, when your presence does not drift at the first sign of discomfort. This is not arrival or resolution. It is contact. The body meeting itself again. Not to stay forever. Not to promise anything. Just to remember that it knows the way back.
