So we are all entrusted with a very particular unique body to take care of in our lifetime.
And our bodies can do amazing and wondrous things.
We're going to explore what our relationship is with our bodies and what they do and are for us.
Seeing if we can move into some appreciation.
So calling to mind a moment when you felt really good about your body.
Perhaps you completed a physical feat.
Or maybe you were able to replenish and restore your body after some hardship.
Or perhaps your body was able to have some wondrous healing.
Whatever proud moment,
Just visit that.
Remember what it felt like in your body.
And then reflecting on something that your body does for you every day and is very consistent.
Maybe it's walking or sitting or standing or doing some tasks.
Just see yourself day after day with that one specific thing that your body does.
And then taking that ability to support you in that consistency.
A broader look at your body,
Perhaps from above.
Maybe seeing it at different times and stages.
As an infant,
A young child,
Developing into adolescence and young adulthood,
And then aging into later adulthood,
Perhaps,
If you're there.
Looking at those changes without judgment.
And leaning into this perspective of gratitude that this body has endured so much.
All the scars and all of the pains and the aches,
The diseases and illnesses.
All of it is this life that you've lived.
Is there a way that we can look at our bodies with this kind appreciation for just getting us by,
Getting us to this moment in time?
We are given different body types for a reason,
Even though our culture does preference one body type or two.
There's a diversity of being.
And when we can appreciate that diversity of different ways of looking and being,
We can shift into this loving of all things,
No matter how they look.
Thinking about your one specific wondrous beautiful body.
You have some qualities you have some characteristics that are just yours.
Let's celebrate that.
The skin that you're in is meant to be cared for with this kind appreciation.
And even if we notice that there's times when we don't have that feeling of warmth towards our bodies,
Forgiving ourselves,
Forgetting how wonderful we truly are.
