Welcome to another story for kids,
Bedtime story,
Calming sleep story,
Magical bedtime adventures,
And children's meditation from the book Poppy's Magical Animal Adventures,
Written and illustrated by Tatiana Pleuss.
Today,
Poppy is meeting the butterfly,
But let's first meet Poppy again,
Who looks like a coyote mixed with a kangaroo,
Lays down like a froggie,
And snoozes like a sloth.
Poppy,
This special doggie,
Who smiles with her tongue out when she is happy,
And curls into a tiny ball when she is tired.
Poppy is sweet and smart,
Strong and kind.
She has big brown eyes and pointy ears,
And most importantly,
An adventurous spirit.
Poppy is on a camping trip in the mountains with her parents.
They are camping in a tent,
And as Poppy walks happily along,
She notices a beautiful bush with shiny yellow flowers,
And then something else moving through the air.
A butterfly!
As Poppy walks closer to the butterfly,
She hears her tiny voice singing,
Do you want to know a secret?
Poppy nods with a smile.
The butterfly whispers in Poppy's ear,
I started my life as a caterpillar,
Eating a lot of leaves.
Then a silky blanket surrounded me,
Called a pupa,
That protected me while I was growing and changing.
All of my struggles in the pupa hardened my wings and were necessary for me to grow strong and turn from a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly.
It takes time and patience to grow.
The butterfly lands on Poppy's nose for just a moment and smiles.
She says,
Remember that you always have the power to grow and change,
Always.
Thank you,
Butterfly,
Says Poppy with a smile.
Thank you,
Butterfly,
For showing us that we always have the power to grow and change.
Poppy has a grateful feeling in her heart by listening to the butterfly,
As the butterfly flies back into the bushes with the shiny yellow flowers.
And now,
As you rest quietly,
You can wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
Feel the gentle hug of peace and quiet around you,
Guiding you into sweet dreams and a magical night of rest.
Let your body feel calm and cozy,
Like a warm,
Soft cloud,
As you drift into peaceful dreams.
Maybe you dream about the butterfly.
And maybe the butterfly sits on your nose too.
Poppy says,
Bye-bye,
Woof-woof!
