Today we will be doing a monthly reflection and vision meditation.
This is perfect at the end or beginning of each month as a way to reflect on the month behind you and prepare for the month ahead of you.
Whenever you're ready,
Find a comfortable seated posture,
Gently closing your eyes or softening your gaze,
Maybe taking a moment to get out any wiggles in the body,
Shaking out any areas of your body where tension may feel stuck,
Coming to stillness and connecting back to your breath,
Taking a moment to notice your initial state of mind,
Simply observing any thoughts that may be arising,
Any fear or hesitation,
Eagerness,
Excitement,
Allowing all of those labels to wash away as you give your mind a moment to drop in.
Orient yourself in time and space without opening your eyes,
See the room around you,
Maybe you even notice what clothes you're wearing,
You think about what you were doing right before you sat down to practice,
And on your own time,
Slowly move back in time to the first of the month,
The beginning of that cycle.
Take some time to notice the environment around you,
Your state of mind,
Maybe any expectations that you had about the month ahead,
Notice any differences about this moment,
Remember it in detail,
Slowly begin to move forward and through each day or week of this month,
Highlighting all of the sweetness that this month brought into your life,
Paying attention to any lessons that you may have learned,
Any characters that have entered your life,
Or any sweet moments that would like to be shared.
What did you love most about this month?
What do you hope to remember forever?
Feeling good about this month,
Even if you don't feel like it was that much,
Knowing that it was entirely perfect in its own unique way.
As you start to return back to the moment in which you are practicing,
Look back on the month behind you,
Take it all in,
And then give it away,
Knowing that all of the sweetness will stay with you forever,
All of the things that you learned,
Memories that you never want to forget,
Moments that will be cherished,
They live with you,
Always within your heart,
But in order to move forward,
You must move on.
Looking forward,
See a blank slate,
An open horizon full of possibility for the next few moments,
Vision the month ahead,
Dream as big as possible.
Notice what things come up first,
What themes or events or people,
Where do you want to focus your energy this month?
Instead of creating a mental to-do list,
Think about the essence that you want to embody in the month ahead.
Maybe that essence is love or connection or childlike joy.
Allow that to propel you forward with expansion and limitless potential.
Feel into the possibility of the month ahead and recognize that this reality you have just created in your mind,
Although has not happened physically,
Because we can think it,
Conceptualize it,
Means that it's already there for us,
Waiting for us to grab on.
See this vision begin to come in towards the center of your chest,
Sweeping up all of the sweetness that you just visioned into its origin point,
Seated right next to the heart.
Know that this vision will always be within you and that it's not necessarily about achieving this exact same outcome,
But rather allowing ourselves to invite in that limitless potential while embodying our desired essence.
Connect back to your breath,
Allowing it to revitalize every crevice of your body.
Notice your state of mind,
How it has shifted after the past 10 minutes.
Feel good about the work that you have just done and know that there is no more work to do.
If you feel called,
You can journal about this very vision,
The things that you see before you,
Or you can just allow it to effortlessly float into your life.
Whenever you're ready,
Open the eyes,
Coming back into the space around you,
Orienting yourself back into space and time.
May this month ahead be so abundant and fruitful,
And bring all of your desires and so much more.
Know that you can always return back to this vision,
Growing it wider and wider and wider.
