Close your eyes and let yourself drift away in this safe and happy story.
Max and Bee,
Brother and sister,
Were standing outside their farm,
Looking far into the distance across the green pastures to the mountains and hills in the distance.
The sunshine was warm and it was casting a yellow glow across everything.
It was the kind of day that just felt amazing.
Max and Bee started off towards the forest.
Their mom and their dad were in the kitchen working on making something scrumptious and yummy.
Max and Bee yelled,
See you later mom,
Bye dad.
And they ran off towards the forest to go see what kind of adventures they could dig up.
They were looking for magic in the world around them and thought if they looked deep enough in the woods,
Perhaps they could find some kind of adventure.
As they walked down the path that they knew so well,
They had walked with their mom and dad so many times,
They came across a little brook.
The water was bubbling and moving down,
Down,
Down and they decided to follow it.
Max took a minute and started building a bridge across the water and Bee sat over there against the bank just whistling a song and looking at the butterflies as they flapped their wings and flew around her head.
When Max was done building his bridge they got up and started walking down the little brook to see where it went and what kind of adventures they could find.
They saw salamanders,
They saw frogs.
Bee even had a dragonfly land on her shoulder.
She giggled and kind of brushed it off.
And as they kept walking they came across a kind of clearing where the sun came down through the tops of the forest and lit up the ground.
There were old dead leaves crunching underneath their feet and they could smell that wonderful smell that you get when you're deep in the forest and there's just a hint of moisture.
In the middle of this lit up area they saw a big old tree with huge branches laying over the clearing leaning far out like big arms stretching.
The sun hit this old tree and they could see the green moss growing up the sides and the yellow light dancing in between the golden bark shown.
It was a beautiful old tree and as Max and Bee walked around it looking at its huge roots growing deep into the ground underneath them they suddenly saw a brilliant golden light begin at the bottom of the tree.
Bee stopped and grabbed Max's arm.
Look,
She said and pointed down.
The light started to move up the tree leaving behind it a kind of crack.
The light went up just above their heads and started to turn and made a giant kind of circle and then dropped all the way back down.
In the bark in the middle kind of started to grow out and it turned into a doorknob.
Max and Bee kind of took a step back and they looked at each other and Max said I'm checking this out let's see what's in there.
So Max reached for the door and Bee grabbed his arm and said no wait we don't know what's in there.
But I guess I'm up for some adventure.
So together they grabbed the doorknob and they opened the door and started walking down the steps wondering what they would find.
The air smelled heavy and damp but it looked like there was a flickering light at the bottom.
Hello Bee said but there was nothing no answer.
They almost thought they could hear the sound of water moving down there.
So they kept going until they reached the last step.
When they looked inside they saw what looked like a laboratory or something like where a wizard would live.
There was a table with books,
Old big books stacked high and paper that looked like it was a thousand years old.
There were candles lit all around the room and through the middle of the room ran a very small little brook of water.
They followed the brook and at the end it suddenly went straight up.
The water just stopped and then it floated like the water was falling upwards.
What was this place?
They looked around and there were tables with glass jars with bright colored liquids that were green and purple and pink and blue.
Bubbling and moving and tubes all over.
There were massive bookshelves stacked high with books.
They were so big that Max didn't even think that he could lift it off there.
Even though he had carried some big pieces of firewood for his dad,
He knew he was strong.
These books looked heavy.
Bee glanced around and she saw something kind of dancing over in the corner.
There was a mirror and in that mirror there was light moving inside of it like small little flickers.
Suddenly they heard the sound of a voice.
Hello?
What was that?
Bee spun around and looked at Max and Max he looked pretty scared.
They looked around and they didn't see anything.
Hello?
They thought they saw something moving over by the water and down there was an old looking frog.
This old frog had like a little beard growing underneath its jaw.
Hello?
He said follow me there's no time to waste.
Max and Bee looked at each other like did a frog just talk to us?
Is this real?
The frog looked up at them with a very straight face and said yes this is real.
Now follow me there's no time to waste.
No time at all.
Come come come come come now.
And just as he hopped he let out a little fart.
Both Max and Bee started giggling.
He turned and looked at them almost embarrassed slightly angry and said yes I'm old I squeak when I move.
Follow follow follow let's go.
So Max and Bee started behind him and the old frog leaping his way down a little tunnel.
So they followed after him.
Where are we going?
Where are we going?
Said Bee.
Just follow follow follow.
Others answers will be coming soon.
Come come come let's go let's go.
No time to waste we must move.
So Max and Bee hurried and followed the fast frog.
Even though he was old he moved quickly down the tunnel towards another room.
When they entered the room there was a massive blue crystal.
Had jagged edges and very smooth faces.
It stood as tall as a tree inside this room.
It was beautiful.
The frog stopped and looked back at Max and Bee.
No time to waste.
It's broken.
The crystal.
No work.
Doesn't work.
Nope nope nope.
We need to fix it.
Come come come come.
Very important.
Very important.
So Max and Bee with their eyes wide open and mouths nearly on the floor because they were so amazed by this crystal.
Well they kept following this whole frog.
And around the other side of the crystal was another river where the water flowed upwards like it was floating towards the sky.
Except this one was different.
They could see a face in it.
I am Amador.
Said the face.
And you are here to save magic.
I know it.
I can feel it in my droplets.
I know you must have many questions.
But first let me tell you that magic is being stolen from the hearts of everyone right now.
There are dark and evil forces at work trying to take the magic of everything and everyone.
You are the only ones that can stop this atrocity of magic theft.
You are here.
For a reason.
I don't think that you just stumbled in here by accident,
Did you?
The old face in the water lifted its eyebrow looking at Max and then to Bee.
Bee holding her brother's arm looked at the water face and said,
Sir,
We did just stumble in here.
There was a door on a tree and then an old frog that farts and we just followed him and here we are.
I don't know what any of this is.
Max looked at his sister and back at the water face and said,
What she says is right.
That's exactly right.
I think we're going to go now.
The face in the water became stern and said,
Hold your horses.
You're not going anywhere.
First,
We need to talk about this magic theft stuff.
If you think you're just going to run off and leave me here alone with this old frog,
You're mistaken.
I wouldn't ask you to do this if it wasn't absolutely necessary.
We have to do something because if we don't,
Then nothing will get done.
You see the problem.
I can't do this on my own.
And that old frog,
Well,
He's not worth a whole lot anymore.
The frog looked up at the face,
Kind of stuck out his tongue and wiggled it at him.
Look,
I have a feeling that both of you were looking for adventure and magic and you found it.
That is hello.
So now you found magic and you want to leave.
No,
No,
No,
I don't think so.
You must hear this out.
First,
Max.
Max got surprised and his eyes opened.
How did this old water know his name?
Max,
Yes,
I know your name.
I know your name.
First,
You are going to get this.
Look,
This is super special.
I paid a lot of money for it and I really value this.
But here is my magical staff.
With this staff,
You can make water do anything you want.
Like it's super cool.
So first,
You use the staff to move water and you can freeze water.
You can you can keep it liquidy like the way water is when it comes out of the faucet.
You could even make that water into a giraffe.
Try it.
Pick up,
Pick it up,
Pick up that staff right there.
Just pick it up.
So Max reached over and he picked up the staff and the old face and the water.
Now imagine a giraffe like like the best you can imagine a giraffe and wave the wand and you have to believe that you can do it.
You can make a giraffe with the wand.
It's really cool.
Try it.
Try it.
I want to see it.
So Max held the wand.
He aimed it at the water and he imagined as hard as he could a giraffe.
But for some reason he couldn't help it.
He kept thinking about a rhino and all of a sudden a rhino showed up right there in front of him and me.
They jumped back but it was so cool.
I mean you could see the water moving inside of it.
Yet the rhino looked like it was alive.
And you young lady I have something for you as well.
You see that flute over there on on the shelf.
Yes that shelf.
Go over to the shelf and and grab that flute.
Now look I know it's super.
Just as she picked it up she started coughing and sneezing.
I was gonna say it's really dusty.
So just just blow it off.
There you go.
And now with this flute when you play a tune you can move anything.
I mean I seriously mean anything.
Like you want to move a rock.
You can move a rock.
You want to move a feather.
You can move a feather.
If your brother really starts to annoy you you can even move him.
I advise against it though unless he has a helmet on.
But it's it's actually it's really cool.
Could you please try it.
It hasn't been played in years.
It's quite lonely.
Bea looked at this old flute and it kind of grossed her out.
I mean like there was dust.
There was even like a spiderweb off one end.
But she she cleaned it off the best she could and she put it to her lips.
She started to play.
Even though she'd never played a flute before for some reason when she held this one it was like she could play the most beautiful music.
It was like her feelings talked through the flute.
And when she started to play she looked at a big boulder sitting over in the corner of the cave and it lifted off the ground like it was as light as a feather.
And she imagined and moved the flute towards the other side of the wall and the boulder moved just as she imagined and set back down again just like she wanted.
So I've given you these super cool magical items and now well would you mind doing something for the rest of the world.
This is a big deal.
We need you to save magic.
And when I say we I mean like everyone inside of the wizard world.
Everyone inside of the actual world because I'm going to let you in on a little secret.
Magic lives in everyone.
Yes,
Even both of you.
Even inside the old farting frog.
Magic lives.
And I need you to save it because there is an evil wizard dancing around a red crystal somewhere that wants to take magic from everyone.
He just wants it for himself.
The old guy is crazy if you ask me.
But he needs help.
He needs your help.
We need your help.
Can you do this?
Now look it's a long and scary journey.
You're gonna run into challenges.
There's gonna be problems.
But it's worth it.
It's worth it.
Let me tell you.
And you won't be doing it alone.
I have my friend Giddy.
She is she's fantastic.
You'll love her.
Get Giddy.
And Giddy will guide you on your journey.
It's really gonna be a magical journey to where this crazy old wizard is doing his crazy old dance.
Just then the vase in the water looked over towards the mirror with the glowing lights and out popped a beautiful small fairy.
She was only as tall as a fork or a spoon.
But she glowed like a brilliant golden light.
And even though she flew very fast,
She left behind her a trail of shimmering,
Shimmering,
Glittering light.
Are you all ready to go on this adventure?
She said.
And even though she was small,
Both Max and Bee could see that she had a giant smile and the laughing eyes when she looked at them.
Max and Bee were giggling by now.
I mean magical items,
A talking waterfall,
A fairy.
How much cooler could this adventure day get?
Max looked back at the waterfall and he looked down at his staff.
And he said,
This is really cool.
What's your name?
The face in the waterfall smiled.
My name is Amador.
Right,
Right.
Okay.
Amador.
Look,
We don't know magic.
And I think that my sister and I would love to help,
But we don't know how to stop a wizard.
I mean,
We're just regular kids.
You can't ask us to do something like that.
The face inside of the water got a warm,
Friendly smile and said,
My son,
Nobody is ever ready to do anything incredible or extraordinary.
But sometimes life just kind of gives you these surprises.
And then you have a choice.
You either run away from the surprise,
Or you take it and see where it goes.
Look,
Max,
This is an incredible opportunity and I can see inside of Bee's eyes,
She wants to go.
Bee,
Is that true?
Bee looked at Max and she had that look in her eyes and Max knew that she was ready for adventure.
Bee said,
Max,
Come on,
We got to do this.
He's asking us to save magic.
If ever there was an adventure,
Today's it.
So Max picked up his staff strongly in one hand and said,
We're in,
Old man in the waterfall.
So Giddy flew in front of them and said,
Okay,
Y'all,
You follow me.
I'm going to take you on an adventure and we're going to save magic together.
This is going to be incredible.
Amador,
We'll see you around,
Old man.
Hold on,
Hold on.
Not so fast.
I know you're all excited to get this party started,
But when you see the wizard,
You have to take the glowy red thing out of his hand.
That's the source of the power.
That's what's keeping him strong.
So get that thing out of his hand and then you'll figure it out from there.
Okay.
Max looked at the face and said,
All right,
Amador,
We got this.
Giddy led them down another hallway.
Inside this room,
There was a dirt floor with rounded sides.
The ceiling was kind of tall and there was a tree over on the left-hand side.
It stood tall and grew up against the roof of the cave.
And over on the right-hand side,
There was a brilliant blue pool.
Deep.
Looked very deep.
And Giddy flew over next to it and said,
Okay,
This is what you all have to do.
You have to put on these special suits and helmets.
You see them right here?
Okay.
So you got to put on those suits and the helmets,
Make sure they're on there real good because we have to go into that water and we want to make sure that you're going to be able to breathe.
So put on the suits and then follow me.
Just as she said that,
She snapped her fingers and a bubble of air showed up around her as she dropped down into the water.
So Max ran over,
Grabbed a suit and started putting his feet in.
First his right foot all the way down until it kind of slipped into a boot and then his left foot all the way down and slipped into a boot.
And he started pulling it up and zipped it all the way the top.
And he looked over at B.
And B already had her suit on and she was dropping her helmet over her head.
She kind of dropped it and then turned it and click,
It was right in place.
So Max and B with their suits on,
The staff and flute in hand jumped into the water and they started sinking down,
Down.
The water was so bright and blue they could see for very far away.
Down,
Down they went until they landed on the bottom of this pool.
With a soft thud they both landed on their feet and walked to the edge of what looked like a cliff inside of the water.
And they could see deep,
Deep,
Deep down that cliff.
It dropped for thousands and thousands of feet.
And out into the water they could see brilliant colored fish.
They all looked so happy.
It was like the happiest kind of water that anyone could swim in.
Just being inside of that water made them feel all good inside.
And just then they saw the little air orb of their fairy friend,
Giddy,
Moving towards them.
And behind her a giant pink octopus.
Now this wasn't like any octopus they had seen.
That must have been the size of five school buses.
It was huge.
Giddy came right up next to them and said,
Okay,
Y'all have to hop on the back of this octopus inside of that giant glass bubble.
You see that strapped to his back with those brown leather straps?
Well,
We just go inside of there and there's chairs and we're going to ride him all the way until he can't take us anymore.
Does that sound okay?
Max and Bee both shook their heads.
Yeah,
Yeah.
Bee said,
That looks awesome.
The octopus came right up next to the cliff and Max and Bee were able to just jump off the edge onto the octopus.
They climbed over his head and he had like these brilliant pink scales.
They weren't like hard,
Like you'd think about like a dragon scale,
But it were like soft and firm.
Like he felt like he was pretty safe.
He was a safe octopus to ride.
So they walked across his back and into the giant glass bubble and they pulled the door shut.
And just then there was a loud whistling sound.
And all the water was gone.
They were safe inside of this bubble on the back of the octopus.
So they took off their suits and Giddy dropped her air bubble.
She said,
All right,
Octopus,
Let's roll.
We got places to go.
So the octopus started moving its giant long tentacles and carried them swiftly through the water.
They were moving fast,
Like as fast as they go inside their mom and dad's car.
They were moving quickly through this deep water.
As they went,
Giddy was just talking,
Talking,
Talking.
X and B were sitting there listening and listening.
Giddy sure could talk a lot.
They were moving through the ocean and they noticed that the color started to change.
It was getting darker,
Harder to see out in front of them.
Giddy stopped.
By now they were all very happy and getting along very good.
But Giddy wanted to warn them about something.
Now look,
We are entering into shark alley.
When we're in these waters,
We have to expect that we're going to run into things that we just don't know about.
And in these waters,
There are sharks.
And let me tell you something,
When you come across a shark,
Maybe that shark has a nice smile,
But a shark is a shark.
And sharks can be dangerous.
And so we need to take this very serious.
Max,
You have that special wand that Amador gave you and we're in water.
That staff can save us.
But you have to think about how you're going to save us.
You have to make it inside of your brain and well then we'll be okay.
So Max,
It's on you because shark alley is right up here around the corner.
So how are you going to get us through shark alley?
The floor of the ocean stops and it drops deeper than anything else in the world.
And it goes far across.
And you need to get us across it.
Otherwise,
Well,
We may become shark food.
So Max looked out across the water and he could see the sharks out there swimming.
There must have been hundreds of them.
And so he thought,
What could get us across this safe?
So Max pointed his wand and he imagined a giant square tube that they could go into big enough for the octopus,
Yet thick enough that the sharks couldn't get through it.
So he imagined it and suddenly a floating block of ice appeared in the water.
But it started to sink.
Giddy looked at Bea and said,
Quick,
Quick,
Get out your flute.
Hold that thing in place.
So Bea got out her flute and she started playing a beautiful song and there the tube started to float that Max had created.
The octopus started swimming through the tube.
The sharks saw them coming and their big teeth opened and their giant shark teeth moved and they started swimming towards the tube.
They were going to get them.
The sharks were hungry.
But when they hit the tube,
They found out real quick that they couldn't get through.
Max and Bea were totally safe.
So the octopus swam through the tube.
The sharks kept biting at it and trying to get in,
But they couldn't.
And they came out the other side safe and away from the sharks.
The octopus kept swimming until they came to a giant mountain inside of the water and another mountain right next to it.
And in the center,
There was a large pile of rock and they couldn't get through that pile of rock.
There was nowhere else to go.
I mean,
There were mountains all around them.
They couldn't go back.
That was shark alley.
Bea looked at Bea and said,
Bea,
You have everything you need right there inside you.
All you got to do is just play that flute and move those rocks out of the way so we can get across.
So Bea again picked up her flute and started playing her music.
The rocks moved out of the way and the octopus swam through.
The water started getting shallow and shallower until they came to a point where the octopus could swim no more.
Max and Bea and Giddy climbed out of the glass tube onto a shore where they saw a jungle in front of them.
A deep,
Thick jungle with giant trees with huge leaves and green vines wrapping up and flowers everywhere.
Max took his wand and pointed back at the water and imagined a sword made of ice.
Out of the water rose a frozen ice sword and drifted over into his hand.
He took that sword and said,
Where to,
Giddy?
She pointed the way.
Max started to cut the vines and leaves out of the way and they started making their way through this deep jungle.
They could hear the sounds of birds in the distance.
The air was heavy and wet,
So wet that they started sweating right away.
But Max kept working until all of a sudden they heard the roar of a tiger.
Roar.
The tiger jumped out onto the trail and looked at them with fierce eyes and sharp teeth.
His head was down and his butt was up,
Like a cat looks when it's playing with something.
Max had his sword up,
But he was scared.
He never fought a tiger before.
He looked at Bea.
Bea pulled out her flute.
She looked calm and confident and she started to play.
Logs laying off in the jungle started to float up in front.
And the tiger looked around,
Confused.
All of a sudden Bea had logs and branches and sticks floating everywhere.
And then,
With a mighty note,
They all came crashing down,
Stabbing the ground around them,
Making a giant circle,
Trapping the tiger in the middle of them.
Max was very grateful and Bea looked very happy with herself.
Max said,
Well,
I guess we keep going.
Giddy said,
Sure enough,
We gotta keep moving you two.
Magic is serious business and it's going fast.
We don't have any time to wait because those evil folk,
They ain't gonna wait.
We gotta keep moving.
Move,
Move,
Move.
Max and Bea started running.
The jungle started opening up and up ahead of them was a huge mountain.
It looked like it went all the way up to the clouds way up in the sky.
And up at the very top,
They saw something that looked like a castle.
The dark clouds floating around it,
Lightning crackling down.
Bea looked at Max and said,
Well,
I'm guessing that's where the evil wizard is.
So let's get moving.
They all started running towards the mountain and there was a small trail leading up the side.
And they started climbing.
Both of them were tired.
Giddy didn't look so bad.
I mean,
She could fly.
They kept walking and walking.
One time Bea kicked a little pebble and they watched it fall down the edge of the cliff.
They heard it fall,
Fall,
Fall.
Hitting the ground.
That was a long way down.
Max and Bea looked at each other.
They were a little worried,
But they kept going and the wind started getting strong.
Giddy looked like she was struggling to fly against the wind.
And then all of a sudden,
Just as she said,
Bea.
The wind came up and Giddy was carried away in a giant gust.
Max and Bea looked at each other.
They were both scared.
They could see it in each other's faces.
Their guide was gone.
But they had to take care of the wizard.
She'll come back.
They said she can fly.
So Max and Bea kept going until they got to the top where there was a castle,
Giant stone castle made out of giant blocks of stone that were very smooth and fit tightly together.
And in between all the cracks,
There was dark green moss and plants growing out.
This castle looked like it had been there a very long time.
Max looked at his sister and said,
Stay here,
Bea,
Stay here.
Let me go look in.
He quietly crept up to the door and poked his head in.
And inside he saw a giant red crystal,
Just like the blue one that they had seen back where they saw the water with the face Amadur.
He signaled to Bea with his hand,
Come up here,
Come up here.
So they both came up to the door and they bent their head around the edge and looked inside and they saw the crystal and something else.
There was a wizard in there in dark blue robes dancing around this big red crystal like a wild man.
Bea grabbed her brother's arm and drug him inside.
Hey,
You crazy wizard,
You're trying to steal magic and we're here to tell you stop.
The wizard stopped dancing,
But he didn't look at them.
He just stopped as if frozen.
The giant crystal glowed and pulsed red and the wizard snapped his head around quickly and glared at them both and out of his eyes,
Bright red light shone.
He waved his hand as if trying to move them away from his face and instantly Max and Bea were flung across this giant castle floor into a jail cell.
The door slammed shut.
The giant rusty bars went up,
Up very high and there were branches and vines growing on the corner of the ceiling where they were.
Since then the flute and the staff were pulled out of their hands and they watched helplessly as they both disappeared into the glowing red crystal.
The wizard didn't even take any time to look back at them.
He just went back to his crazy dancing around and around the crystal laughing as he danced and danced.
Bea yelled at the wizard,
Let us out,
Let us out,
But it was as if the wizard couldn't even hear them.
The glowing red crystal pulsed.
Max looked at Bea and said,
Bea,
I'm scared.
We need to get out of here.
Like now.
I don't think this wizard is,
You know,
You know,
A good guy.
I'm pretty sure he's a bad guy.
We got to get out of here.
But I don't know how.
Bea looked at him.
She said,
We'll figure it out.
But I'm scared too.
They both looked at each other and then looked down at the ground.
They shook the bars.
They climbed around.
They looked for any way out they could,
But they couldn't see anything.
Max was about ready to give up.
He says,
I don't know.
I don't know.
Bea looked at Max and all of a sudden she remembered what Giddy had told him.
Remember when Giddy told us that sometimes stuff would get in our way and we just had to keep going?
That's when I moved those rocks with with my flute.
We just have to figure out a way.
And Max said,
You're right.
Let's look one more time.
So they looked around and Bea said,
If I could get up high enough,
I could grab those roots and vines up there at the top and I could probably get out of here.
But I don't know how I'm going to reach it.
Max said,
I'll help you.
Together we can do this.
So Max got down and Bea climbed up on his shoulders.
Max struggling.
He was able to stand up,
But Bea still couldn't reach those roots and vines up at the top.
I got to go higher,
She said.
So Max put his hands underneath her feet and lifted as much as he could.
He was shaking and he was struggling,
But he lifted her one more foot higher.
Just then,
Bea said,
I got it.
She grabbed a hold of the roots and pulled herself up,
Squeezing herself between the ceiling of the castle and the metal bars.
She was able to get out and climb down.
She kind of glanced over at the wizard and he was just still dancing crazily around the red crystal.
All right,
Bea,
See if you can find a key or something to get me out of here now,
Max said.
So Bea looked around the desk and there was a giant bookshelf and on the bookshelf she found an old metal key.
It looked kind of like the prison bars,
So she ran over and unlocked the door.
Max and Bea didn't waste any time.
They both just booked it for the open part of the castle and ran out.
Okay,
Max said,
We're both safe and we have a choice.
We can either run or we can stop this crazy,
Mad wizard guy and save magic for everybody.
What are we going to do?
Bea looked at Max and said,
The only thing we can do,
Max,
We got to save magic.
I didn't start this journey just to quit now just because things get hard.
We got to expect challenge and a shark's going to do what a shark's going to do,
Right?
A crazy wizard is going to do what a crazy wizard does.
We just got to figure out how to be smarter than him.
Max scratched his chin.
Bea scratched her chin.
They both looked out across the sky.
Amador gave you the power to move stuff with sound and he gave me the power to create stuff with water.
So we don't have our magic anymore,
But maybe we can still do that.
So Max ran over and started grabbing sticks and started putting them together,
Making what looked like a leg.
He looked at Bea and said,
Bea,
Can you grab some of that dirt and mud over there and see if you can start making this look like a person?
So Max went to work building the skeleton of a person out of wood and Bea started packing on the mud and the clay,
Turning it into what looked like a little person,
Just like one of them.
When they were done,
Max and Bea picked it up and carried it over next to the opening,
The door of the castle.
They set it down and Max snuck in through the door around the edge of the big open space where the wizard was dancing next to the red crystal.
He was very quiet,
Not to let the wizard know that he was there.
And when he got to the place that he wanted,
With a stone in hand,
He nodded to his sister who was peeking in through the doorway of the castle.
Just then she used her voice,
Sound,
And yelled at the wizard.
The wizard whirled around and saw the dummy that they had made sitting in the doorway of the castle and he used his magic with his glowing red eyes and flung it into the jail cell.
Just then when the wizard was looking at the dummy,
Max picked up his stone,
Stood up and threw it as hard as he could at the staff that was in the crazy wizard's hand with the glowing red top.
The rock hit the top and the red part of it blew up.
A giant red light filled the room and the wizard fell to his knees.
His eyes instantly turned blue.
The crazy old wizard actually looked like he was a good guy.
His face looked at Max and Bee and he looked sad as if he knew something bad was happening.
The giant red crystal behind him started to glow brighter and brighter than it had before.
Light cracks started showing up all around it.
The old wizard looked at Max and Bee and said,
You must destroy the crystal.
And just as he finished speaking,
The crystal started sucking everything in.
Books were flying off the shelves.
The old iron bars on the jail cell started to move and shake and Max and Bee felt the pull of everything.
Max ran as fast as he could try and get back to the opening.
When he looked back and saw the wizard getting sucked into the crystal and disappearing,
Max was hoping that he could make it to the opening,
But the pull of the crystal was just too strong.
Bee saw her brother starting to slide down the floor,
So she dove in and grabbed his hand.
Her other hand grabbed a hold of the window that was right next to them.
The pull of the crystal was just so strong.
Max!
Bee yelled.
We have to use magic!
It's the only way!
Max,
Remembering his training with the staff,
Imagined a water crystal,
A spike,
A long frozen spear,
And he imagined it in his hand.
All of a sudden,
He felt the cold ice of the frozen spear show up inside of his hand.
He threw it at the giant red crystal and the spike lodged itself inside of one of the cracks.
Bee,
You have to make it go in.
Use your magic!
So Bee started to whistle a powerful,
Powerful song,
And the frozen spear was pushed into the crystal.
Just then,
There was a loud bang,
And the crystal just exploded.
Pieces of red crystal shattering against the walls and a red light that just blew up and filled the entire room.
Before Max and Bee knew what was happening,
Everything started to suck back in towards the center.
The crystal disappeared,
And Max and Bee,
Without even being able to save themselves,
Were sucked right in.
They felt themselves spinning and tumbling and flying through the air until,
Bang,
They both landed on a hard,
Dirt floor.
They opened their eyes and looked around,
And they were back inside the old tree that they had started in.
The wizard with the blue eyes laid right next to them,
And he sat up rubbing his head and holding his back with his other hand.
A blue mist rose out of Amador's place and gently settled into the old wizard with the blue eyes.
You have done it.
You did it.
Both of you did a fantastic job.
You saved me from that crazy red crystal and its dark magic.
I had it,
And I was trying to destroy it in the side of that castle when all of a sudden the crystal started to glow and it shot this part of me back here into this little stream.
It was using my body to steal magic from the world,
But you,
You saved me.
Max looked down around them,
And he saw the staff laying next to him and the flute laying over next to Bee.
Bee picked up her flute and handed it to the old wizard.
Thank you,
Amador,
For everything.
You taught us that magic really is real,
And it exists here inside of us,
Inside of me.
I never knew that I had the ability to play a flute or move things out of my way,
But now I know the next time something shows up,
It's never going to stop me.
Max handed his staff back to the wizard and said,
I learned that I can make whatever I need.
I can create it if I can imagine it.
Just then,
Giddy flew down the tunnel right next to him.
There y'all are.
I was worried sick about you.
That wind just picked me up and it just carried me off right on through the trees.
I couldn't stop anything.
I was whipping past the jungle.
I saw that crazy old tiger y'all trapped,
And he somehow got out of that trap.
I just kept on flying.
That wind just took me forever.
I had to fly all the way back here.
But here I am,
And boy am I happy to see you two.
You two scared me,
But you did it.
You saved magic.
You saved the whole world.
You know you two are heroes.
And me will always be heroes.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
They looked down and saw the toad,
Who just looked at them with a straight face,
Said,
It's time to go home.
Go,
Go,
Go,
Go.
Too late.
Time to go.
Go,
Go.
Max and B looked at each other and laughed.
I guess we should be getting home.
It's about that time,
Isn't it?
Said B.
Well,
Goodbye,
Amador.
Goodbye,
Toad.
Goodbye,
Giddy.
Thank you for a wonderful adventure.
