Nothing from today needs to follow you into your evening.
Now find a comfortable spot.
Maybe you want to sit down or lie down and gently close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in and exhale slowly.
And another deep breath in and exhaling slowly.
And feel your body where you are.
If you're sitting down,
Focus on your feet,
On your seat.
And if you're lying down,
Focus on your back and your legs.
Let gravity hold you.
You don't need to carry anything right now.
And again,
Inhale deeply through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
And again,
Inhaling deeply,
Filling up your chest and belly with air.
And exhale through the mouth,
Even slower than before.
We're doing this a third time.
Inhale through the nose and exhale even slower than before through the mouth.
Now bring your awareness to the top of your head.
Soften your forehead.
Soften your eyes.
Soften your jaw.
Let your shoulders drop and release the weight you didn't realize you were carrying.
Now soften your chest.
Soften your belly.
Unclench your hands.
Relax your legs,
Your feet.
And now feel how your whole body begins to settle,
Deeply relaxed.
And now gently bring to mind your day,
The moments,
The people,
The interactions you had.
Without going into the story,
Just noticing.
And now imagine soft,
Energetic chords connecting you to these moments,
From your body to others,
To places,
To situations.
Imagine all those chords.
Don't go into any situation,
Just see those energy chords.
And now with deep compassion,
You begin to release them.
With every exhale,
You gently dissolve a chord.
Not with force,
But with permission.
I release what is not mine to carry.
I release these chords one by one,
Dissolving into light.
Release what is not yours to carry.
And continue to see all those chords dissolving into light,
Returning to where they belong.
You call your energy back to you,
From every place it was left behind.
Feel your energy returning,
Softly and naturally.
And now silently or out loud,
Repeat,

You can start to introduce some micro movements into your body.
Maybe opening and closing your hands,
Wiggling your toes,
And feel yourself here.
Now clear,
Grounded,
And whole.
And slowly,
Slowly,
You can open your eyes.
Now the rest of the evening is yours.
You can return to this practice every time you feel you need to unwind after a day at work,
Or after a situation that is draining you.
