Meditation,
The path behind you,
The path ahead.
Come into a comfortable position,
Lying down.
Let your body be fully supported.
Nothing to hold,
Nothing to manage.
Take a slow breath in and exhale softly through the mouth.
Let your intention arrive gently.
Not a call,
But a whisper.
I am here to listen.
I am here to soften.
I am here to honor and to choose.
We begin by entering deep rest through the body.
Bring attention to the right hand,
Thumb,
Index finger,
Middle,
Little finger,
Middle finger.
Move to the left hand,
Index finger,
Toes,
Bring awareness to the pelvis,
Chest,
Whole body as one field of sensation.
You don't have to relax,
Just notice.
Now feel the breath drop lower.
Inhale to a count of 4,
Exhale to a count of 6.
Again,
4 in,
6 out.
Let the exhale signal to the body,
It is safe to let go.
If thoughts come,
Let them float like birds across the sky,
Seen,
Not held.
If emotions arise,
Let them move through the body without needing a story.
Now imagine yourself standing on a long pathway at dusk.
The sky deep blue,
The horizon golden,
Behind you stretches a long road of lives,
Your lineage near and far.
Not just family,
The whole river of people who made you possible.
You may not know their names,
But your blood remembers.
Feel them behind you,
Not demanding,
Not judging,
Simply present.
Whisper softly,
Thank you for what you carried.
Thank you for bringing me here.
Notice if one ancestor steps forward,
Not necessarily someone you knew,
Someone who holds wisdom,
Strength or tenderness.
Let them stand behind you quietly.
As you look back along the path,
Notice what you inherited,
Perhaps responsibility,
Silence,
Fear of being seen,
Pressure to be strong,
Guilt,
Perfectionism,
Loyalty,
Sacrifice.
Don't judge what appears,
Just witness.
These patterns were born from real lives,
Real pain,
Real survival.
Let yourself whisper,
I see why you lived this way.
Thank you for protecting our lineage the best you could.
Hold these patterns in your hands like old keys,
Keys that once opened doors for them,
But may not open doors for you anymore.
Now slowly turn toward the path ahead.
Feel your feet grounded in the present,
Not breaking away from the story,
But continuing it in a new way.
Whisper gently,
I honor where I come from,
And I choose a new path.
Now feel one ancestor place a hand on your back,
Not to hold you,
But to bless your steps ahead.
Hear them say silently,
Go,
We are with you.
You could not walk this path,
But you can,
We are proud.
Let gratitude fill your chest,
Not only for what was endured,
But for what now becomes possible.
Let the imagery fade like mist in the morning light,
Return to the weight of your body,
Return to this room.
Nothing needs to be resolved tonight,
Just a soft opening.
Whisper silently,
Thank you,
I carry the past with love,
And walk forward with freedom.
