Welcome to Night Whispers,
A guided time of allowing your mind and body to enter rest.
I'm here to sit with you in this quiet.
For the next 15 minutes,
There is nothing to achieve,
Nothing to fix,
Nothing to become.
Just this moment as it is.
Notice you just stopped moving.
A moment ago,
You were doing,
And now you're being.
Your body might still carry the hum of activity.
A subtle aliveness from the day that just was.
You don't need to make it go away.
Just notice.
This is what transition feels like.
Neither fully in the day,
Nor fully in the night,
And that is exactly where you are.
You might notice you want to already be relaxed.
A thought that says,
I should feel different than this.
Just notice that thought,
Like noticing a bird that just flew past the window.
As it is,
Is enough.
Let's notice the body.
There's a surface beneath you,
Holding your weight.
Notice the points of contact where your body meets the bed,
The bed resting on the pillow,
Your shoulders.
You don't need to make it soften.
Just notice.
And in the noticing,
Sometimes,
Not always,
The body softens on its own.
Now,
Notice your breath.
Not to control it.
Not to deepen it.
Just to notice it's happening.
Air comes in,
Air goes out,
Your body breathing itself,
Fast or slow,
Shallow,
Or deep.
However it is.
And you can rest in witnessing this,
That continues without your management.
You might notice your mind is still active.
Thoughts about today,
Replaying a conversation.
This is what minds do,
Especially at this hour,
When the world goes quiet.
You don't need to stop the thoughts.
You don't need to empty your mind.
Just notice.
Turn to noticing.
This body,
This breath,
This moment.
You might notice an urge to check,
Am I doing this right?
Just notice the checking,
And return to what's simple,
In this body,
In this moment.
Whatever you're feeling,
Is what you're feeling,
Not perfectly calm,
Not perfectly still.
And that's what's true.
Right need to feel different,
Noticing,
Sleep might come,
Or it might wait,
You cannot force it.
You can only be here,
Do what it knows how to do,
Notice this quietness,
There's nothing to do.
Thank you.
