This recording includes insight reflections and meditation discussing Mindfulness of the Body and using meditation as a tool to ground the body and bring in a sense of calm. The body is a reminder of the present moment and an immediate reminder of here-ness/nowness. Mindfulness, the practice of conscious, paced awareness, allows us to hear what that information has to say.

I invite you to find a comfortable posture that honors your body in this unique moment.

Offer your body freedom to move how it needs to move in this moment.

Whether that position is sitting in a seat or finding a position on a cushion,

Laying down or walking.

Take whatever position your body needs without judgment or without any blaming or shaming.

Find the position for your unique body and use this opportunity to connect with the breath.

Maybe you tune into the breath through a series of sensations.

Sensations being the coolness of air coming out of the nose or the coolness of air going into the mouth.

Maybe you notice the belly expanding and contracting.

Maybe you notice the rise and fall of the chest.

Recognize that the body is breathing however you recognize it.

And maybe offer a silent nod of thanks to the unique systems of your body that are operating without you telling it to,

Conducting your breath.

Recognize that your breath is the connection to the earth,

Connection to all life,

The trees,

The water,

The air,

The fire,

The elements all around us.

The breath is what connects us to our kin.

And breathe deeply into the body.

Maybe you notice the feet on the ground or maybe you notice your head against a rest or on a cushion.

Maybe you notice your pelvis,

Whatever seat you've taken.

Allow the breath to melt up the lower body,

Easing any obvious tension in the body as you circulate the breath.

Allow the breath to soften the eyes,

Allowing the eyes to maybe engage in a soft gaze or just flutter all the way closed.

Allow the breath to soften the facial muscles,

To soften the tongue and the jaw.

Allow the breath to melt away any tension in the shoulders and the neck.

Allow the breath to expand the back,

Creating spaciousness and ample access for the breath to float through.

Allow the breath to create energy within the body.

Allow that energy to connect the breath and the crown energy all the way down to the root,

Out through your feet.

Allow this energy to flow through the hands and the fingertips.

Allow this energy to flow through the hands and the fingertips.

And from this place,

Bringing to the mind's eye,

To the imagination,

Using your intuition and your power to visualize.

Bring out in front of you,

An extremely large sun.

And as you breathe deeply,

Inhale,

Exhale.

That sun gets bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger out in front of you.

As the sun enlarges because of the breath that you offer it,

Recognize that this sun represents your life force energy,

Your meta energy,

Loving kindness directed towards yourself.

And with your visualization,

Bring that sun towards you,

Towards your body.

And allow this loving kindness meta to melt into your body,

Into your hair,

Into your skin,

Into your nails,

Into your energy centers,

Into your heart.

Into your gut.

Breathe deeply into the body and assimilate this loving kindness energy into your field.

And if you feel calm,

And if you feel called,

Using visualization,

We're going to offer this next sun that we create with our breath to amuse.

This can be a person that you want to offer loving kindness to,

A pet.

A tree that you love.

A place in the earth that you love,

That you'd like to offer this energy to.

Or you can simply offer it to yourself,

Remembering that you too are earth.

So using the power of visualization,

Create a beautiful golden sun out in front of you.

And as you inhale and exhale,

That sun begins to enlarge in.

And bring your muse to mind.

Whether that's yourself,

Your pet,

A place in the earth.

And offer this beautiful sun of loving kindness meta energy to the muse.

Breathe deeply,

Remembering our anchor,

The breath.

If any thoughts enter the mind during this practice,

Just continue to return back to the breath.

And as you inhale,

If any thoughts enter the mind during this practice,

Just continue to return back to the breath.

Allow yourself to bring some movement back into the body.

Really tuning in and giving your body what it needs.

Maybe that's a stretch of the neck.

Maybe yawn.

Maybe move the fingers and toes.

Roll the shoulders or roll the neck.

Maybe offer your body a hug.

And gently re-acclimate yourself to your space by slowly opening the eyes.

And know that you cultivated a deepened relationship with your body today.

And this is a practice that we can always remember.

We can always tune back into.

We can always honor the body.
