Gratitude Meditation For Dancers: After Class

A centering meditation designed to internalise your after-class glow to cultivate gratitude and power up your heart’s desires. Through breathwork, awareness, and guided visualisation, you'll step into a radiant energy that stays with you beyond the studio.

Transcript

Find a comfortable seated position and allow your body to soften.

Closing down your eyes and take a deep breath in through the nose and slowly exhale through your mouth.

Again,

Inhale deeply filling your lungs and exhale releasing any tension from class.

One more time.

Return to your natural breath and gently place your hands over your heart.

Feel the warmth beneath your palms.

Feel the gentle rhythm of your heartbeat.

Acknowledge how it's steady and so strong.

Begin to slow your breath,

Inhaling through the nose and exhaling softly through the nose.

With each inhale,

Invite in calm.

With each exhale,

Let go.

Let go of anything that no longer serves you.

Inhale,

Calm.

Exhale,

Let go.

Now take a moment to acknowledge yourself.

You showed up today.

You dedicated yourself.

You moved,

Expressed and ignited energy into your life.

You gave yourself the gift of movement,

The gift of this class.

Thank yourself for this.

Feel your heart beating beneath your hands.

Listen to it.

Feel how alive you are.

Each beat sends energy flowing through you,

Raiding outward into your limbs,

Into your fingertips and into the space around you.

Perhaps you notice a gentle tingling in your body or a glow from within.

Allow yourself to rest in this energy now.

Release the hands and now bring to mind one thing you were grateful for today.

It could be something from class,

A movement that felt right or a connection with the music or with yourself.

Or it could be something beyond the studio.

Whatever it is,

Let this gratitude fill your heart.

Let it expand within you.

Let it become a warmth that spreads throughout your body.

Staying in this space of gratitude,

Begin to now think of something you desire,

Something you wish to create or receive in your life or in your dancing or in your heart.

Once this desire is clear,

Invite it in and picture it clearly in your mind.

You see yourself in the picture too,

Having this desire with ease and joy.

Feel now as if it is already yours.

Let the joy of this vision settle deep within your heart and know that what you desire is already on its way.

Now take a deep breath in and slowly exhale.

Begin to bring your awareness back into the room.

Wriggle your fingers,

Your toes.

Let your breath deepen and anchor you back into this present moment.

When you're ready,

Gently blink open your eyes.

Take a final moment to acknowledge yourself,

Thanking yourself for showing up today,

Thanking your body,

Your heart,

Your dedication.

And carry this energy with you as you move throughout the rest of your day.

You are strong,

You are exactly where you need to be and you are glowing.
