Hey,
Thank you for being here.
If you're listening to this,
You've probably carried fear too long.
Maybe it's loud,
Panic,
Worry,
A future that won't shut up.
Maybe it's quiet,
The kind that waits behind your ribs and causes safety.
Tonight we sit with that.
We don't chase it away.
We learn to face it until it bows.
Sit how you can,
Grounded but gentle.
Unclench the jaw,
Drop the shoulders,
Soften the face.
Breathe in through the nose for four,
Hold for six,
Out through the mouth for eight.
Slow,
Steady,
Two more together,
In four,
Hold six,
Slower this time,
Again in four.
Hold six,
Out eight,
Let the body listen.
If your chest feels tight,
Name it softly,
Fear.
If your stomach flutters,
Whisper anxiety.
We name it so it stops naming us.
Picture yourself beneath a great tree,
Night air heavy,
Storm gathering.
Wind moving through branches,
Old memories testing your balance.
From behind,
A cobra rises,
The mind says run,
Something deeper says stay.
In four,
Hold six,
Out eight,
Slow,
Clean.
The cobra sways,
Waiting for panic to feed it.
You don't move,
You don't fight,
You breathe.
Slowly,
The hood lowers,
Not because fear is gone,
But because it recognizes stillness.
Even fear respects what doesn't flinch.
Reflection,
Take 30 seconds here.
Ask yourself,
What is the cobra right now?
Work,
Health,
Money,
Love,
The unknown.
Name it,
Locate it in the body,
Let it be for a few breaths.
Notice this,
The more you allow,
The less it grows.
The less you resist,
The more it bows.
This is the quiet math of courage.
Fear is an evil.
It's the imagination protecting you,
Without wisdom.
Give it wisdom now,
Tell it I see you,
I'm safe in this breath.
In four,
Hold six,
Repeat that rhythm three soft rounds in your own time.
If memories rise of what scared you,
Or what broke you,
Don't push them away.
They're proof you survived.
Every scar is a map of courage earned.
I know fear well.
Orphanage,
Beds,
Long silences after trauma,
Nights that didn't end.
I carried fear into the military,
And learned this truth.
Courage is a noise,
It's breathing,
When you want to disappear.
Hands over heart,
Inhale four,
Hold six.
Exhale,
Eight,
Steady.
Whisper,
I don't have to run.
I can face this breath.
I can let fear bow.
Sit with that stillness one quiet minute.
When the cobra bowed,
The Buddha did nothing spectacular.
He didn't move.
Remember that.
Before we close,
Know the path keeps going.
Next,
We face resentment,
The burn that lingers after the fire.
We'll learn to bless what we've been holding,
Without letting it poison the well.
Bring your honesty.
Bring your breath.
I'll meet you there.
Stillness is rebellion.
Peace is within.
Compassion is a weapon.
Carry all.
