Lesson 1
Every Human Being Is Hungry
In this opening lesson, Juan Vega introduces the foundation of The Six Hungers: the difference between human need, hunger, craving, and clinging.
Through ordinary real-life moments, this teaching looks beneath what we reach for and asks what we are really trying to feed. Money, love, success, attention, comfort, and control may all carry a deeper promise.
Students are introduced to the closed fist and the open hand, then guided through the Hunger Ledger practice: what I reach for, what it promises, what it costs, and what truly feeds me.

Lesson 2
Ground: When Safety Becomes a Cage
In this lesson, Juan Vega explores the hunger for Ground: the need for safety, stability, and something solid to trust when life feels uncertain.
This teaching looks at what fear does after the ground moves. It shows how wise planning can turn into control, how the future can get louder than the present, and how we can lose the life in front of us while trying to survive every possible ending.
Through Dharma reflection and a simple three-question practice, students learn to separate fact from prediction, loosen the grip of control, and return to one clean next step.

Lesson 3
Aliveness: The Life Beneath the Noise
In this lesson, we explore the hunger for aliveness — the human need to feel awake, connected, and present inside our own life.
This teaching looks at the difference between true aliveness and constant stimulation. Through Dharma reflection and a simple full-contact practice, students learn how noise, screens, entertainment, and distraction can imitate life without actually helping us feel present.
This lesson invites students to return to one ordinary moment with full attention and rediscover the life already here.

Lesson 4
Matter: Dignity Without an Audience
In this lesson, Juan explores the hunger to matter — the human need to know that our life has value, place, and meaning.
This teaching looks at recognition, comparison, unseen labor, and the pain of feeling overlooked. Through Dharma reflection and the practice of one clean gift, students learn how dignity can be witnessed by others without depending on an audience to create it.
This lesson invites students to offer something real without abandoning themselves or turning their worth into a performance.

Lesson 5
Belong: The Grip We Call Love
In this lesson, we explore the hunger to belong — the human need for connection, love, family, friendship, and a place where we can finally put the armor down.
This teaching looks at the difference between love and clinging. Through Dharma reflection and honest relationship inquiry, students learn how fear can enter love, make us overgive, swallow truth, abandon ourselves, or hold too tightly to a bond.
This lesson invites students to love without disappearing, belong without self-abandonment, and meet connection with more truth, courage, and compassion.

Lesson 6
Offer: What Healing Is For
In this final lesson, we bring the six hungers together and explore what healing, growth, and freedom are ultimately for.
This teaching looks at the open hand: the moment when we can feel our needs without being ruled by them. Through Dharma reflection and a final integration practice, students revisit ground, aliveness, mattering, belonging, healing, and offering as one human path.
This lesson invites students to carry one clean step forward, meet hunger with wisdom, and let their life leave less suffering behind.
