Welcome to this short meditation focusing on being enough.
Earlier in the year,
I wrote a short poem about how the only person I am consistently not enough for is myself.
And I thought,
What better way to explore that through meditation,
Mindfulness,
And loving-kindness.
So on that note,
I welcome you to find a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down.
Gently allow your eyes to close,
Take a slow,
Deep breath in,
And exhale slowly.
Settling in,
Inhale through your nose,
Hold softly with care,
And exhale through your mouth.
Letting your body relax,
Feel your weight supported,
Feel your breath slowing down naturally.
Take another deep breath in,
And release.
Let go of any tension in your shoulders,
Soften your jaw,
Relax your stomach.
Allow yourself to arrive fully here.
Bring one hand gently to your heart,
Feel your heartbeat.
Now begin to repeat the mantra with your breath,
Either silently or out loud,
If it's safe to do so.
On the inhale,
I am.
Exhale,
Enough.
Again,
Inhale,
I am,
And letting the breath out through your mouth,
Enough.
Let this gentle breath guide the rhythm that works for you.
If your mind wanders,
Just come back gently.
I am enough.
I am always enough.
You don't need to earn your worth,
You don't even need to be perfect.
Right now,
As you are,
You are,
And I am,
Enough.
Enough in our effort,
Enough in our healing,
Enough in your mistakes,
And in your growth.
Repeat again,
I am enough.
With every exhale,
Release self-doubt.
Let go of pressure,
Judgment,
And comparison.
Return to what is true,
I am enough.
Feel those words settle into your heart.
Feel peace,
Feel your worth,
Your being here today is enough.
Coming back,
Take a deep breath in,
And a long breath out.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
And as I work through this myself,
And evaluate how I feel like I am constantly not enough,
I turn to my friends,
Family,
Boss,
Coworkers,
Neighbors,
Community,
And loved ones,
Who all remind me,
With brutal honesty and compassion,
That I am enough.
And maybe sometimes,
I remind myself,
I should take that at face value,
And truly believe,
That I have always been,
Am currently,
And will always be enough.
You are loved,
And I hope you know that.
Carry this with you through your day.
Thank you.
