This short spoke poem helps the listener, or maybe just the reader, explore that even when things look down, there is light. Where there is cynical thinking, there is room for gratitude. That we are never truly miserable, and that we can help others.

Even on the worst days Even on the worst days,

Smile.

Not just because you made it.

Through endeavors no one should endure.

Or because the sun is shining.

Or your favorite movie is on.

Or you just got paid.

Smile.

Because rent is due.

And the dog pooped on the carpet.

And the car won't start.

And the power is out.

For Without the moon,

There is no sun.

Without the storm,

There is no rainbow.

Without hurt,

There is no healing.
