A Modern Prayer Let us not be ignorant to the injustice around us,
And let us not fall prey to the partisan divides that sever families and cost lives.
May we protect ourselves,
But most importantly others,
From danger both foreign and domestic,
Viral and invisible.
Shall we not grow weary and idle,
Forgoing the necessary precautions in favor of our own convenience?
Let us never again judge another by the color of their skin,
The person in their bed,
Or the bathroom they use.
Most importantly,
May we never forget that each one of us,
Despite transgressions,
Despite character or crimes,
Is worthy of love and compassion.
Amen.
