Welcome to day 11 of A Course in Miracles.
You may notice a change in background,
And know that that is perfect.
Hmm.
That as we draw our attention to our thoughts,
Allow this noise to be a metaphor for what feels like could be affecting our peace.
So there's something that lives in you,
Lives in me,
Lives in the collective.
Ah.
And that is that the world is lived from the outside in.
That the world determines what you perceive,
What you think about,
That your outside situation is actually what creates your reaction.
So today's idea is that your thoughts actually determine the world that you see.
You can see someone that is dealing with the same set of circumstances.
My husband,
You know,
He worries about a lot of things.
Maybe he'll have a problem at work,
Or a problem with the parents at his work,
Or maybe an issue with money,
And he's in so much anguish over it.
All the same while I'm saying,
It's okay.
Help is on the way.
The money is there.
It's all right.
This challenge is for me.
If all of life is for me,
Then how is this also for me,
Whatever it is that's in front of me?
This is a dramatic change.
You've probably seen people that looked so happy.
They just seem happy all the time,
And we say,
That couldn't possibly be me.
They have something I don't have.
That's never the case.
But they are churning their thoughts.
They're changing their thoughts.
They're living life from the inside out.
See,
What we can change in the inside,
That's the key to forgiveness,
To change,
To relax,
To the inner state that we call peace.
And being with the noise,
Being with the thoughts,
With the chaos,
And being the peace,
The inner state.
So I invite us to repeat this exercise,
That words for the exercise this week are,
My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world.
My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world.
Start by closing your eyes,
Taking a deep breath,
Integrating all sounds into the peace that is you.
There is nothing that could perturb that peace.
Open your eyes,
And begin to scan what comes to you.
What thoughts do you think about as you look around the room?
What distractions?
And just repeat,
My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world.
You can repeat this four to five times for the next 24 hours.
Be in total relaxation around this,
Not trying to change anything.
The very important message that comes out of this is acceptance,
Acceptance of everything that is all that is.
We meditate to just accept all the thoughts as they come,
And not identify with them.
I personally do not meditate to have no thoughts,
Because that would be a rejection of a part of me.
Instead,
I meditate to integrate all parts of me to gather them and accept them as they are.
Because what I can accept,
I can create lasting change.
I accept that my thoughts are meaningless and showing me a meaningless world.
I accept that there is a bigger version of myself.
I accept that life is for me all the time.
I accept the noise around me.
I accept it all.
And in doing so,
I know that I am creating a root of love,
Of a higher vision version of myself.
I'm so grateful for you saying yes to this call.
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Namaste.
