Yes, it is okay to complain. The difference is that here we complain mindfully, own it, and take responsibility for complaining. The silence that follows after complaining is the real deal. That is what is called meditation. You do not need to sit for meditation. You need to sit for an activity that results in meditation. The complaint is that activity. Go for it and complain guilt-free.

Hello everyone,

I welcome you to the 18th day of our 21 days mindfulness sessions and today we are going to do something which is so unique because it's called as complaint meditation.

My goodness,

Really Prashanth,

How can you create a meditation of complaints?

Well exactly,

Because sometimes when we unconsciously complain and complain and complain and complain about something,

We are not doing anything about it.

It's a vicious circle,

It's a vicious circle of complaining.

The only way for us to come out of the vicious circle of complaining is to get into a conscious circle of complaining,

Where we consciously complain and we create a meditation out of it and we are able to jump out of it.

Yeah,

So let's go with it.

The whole meditation is going to be sitting and you can do it standing also,

It's absolutely okay.

Again it's an active meditation where there's two stages,

One stage,

The stage one where you're complaining,

Consciously complaining and I will show you how do you do that and in stage two it's a stage of silence,

Where you are either standing or sitting in silence.

So I would prefer if you are able to wear your blindfolds or a scarf or an handkerchief,

It helps you to go deeper and focus on the meditation rather than keeping your eyes closed.

I will demonstrate to you how the stage one is going to be.

So in stage one,

You're complaining and this is how it is going to be.

Your complaints are going to be very short and crisp for what you really want to complain about and you could be complaining about the same things again and again and again and again or you could be steep shifting from one complaint to the other to the other to the other and if you have done with all the complaints,

You can keep repeating the same complaints.

In the stage one,

You're not quiet,

You keep complaining,

You consciously complain.

Even if you feel you're done with all the complaints,

Still you keep complaining.

So this is how it is going to be.

My complaint is that I don't have work,

My complaint is that my relationship is going really bad,

My complaint is that there's a lot of traffic around me,

My complaint is that I'm just not happy with the way the pandemic is going right now,

I'm really,

My complaint is that I don't have a job,

My complaint is that I don't have a job,

My complaint is that my relationship is going bad,

My complaint is that I'm just tired of my life right now,

My complaint is that I need to keep going on and on and on.

These are just some examples which I was just taking.

So you choose what is your complaint and you pick that complaint.

Like this,

They could have five complaints or 50 complaints,

Doesn't matter.

Keep going on and on and on and on.

Be honest and really consciously and these in this time consciously complain it.

Like as if you're actually complaining it to the universe and saying this is my complaint.

Okay,

And on the stage two,

You're in silence.

I would prefer you to be sitting in silence.

Yeah,

If you get ready,

Take your positions,

Wear your blindfolds if you're okay with it.

Breathe in and breathe out a few times.

Get yourself ready,

Be absolutely active and alive right now.

And I will,

You will hear the gong and that's when you start with your stage one of complaining.

At the count of three,

One,

Two and three.

Start.

Go full out with your complaints.

Don't think about right,

Wrong,

Right now.

Go absolutely full out.

Go deeper and say what you really want to complain about.

Go for it.

In your life,

Around you,

In the world,

What's going on,

Whatever you're not okay with,

Complain to the best of your ability.

Go for it.

Even if you feel you're done with one complaint,

Keep going on and on and on till you find another complaint in your life.

And even when you feel you've said all your complaints,

Keep repeating them.

Keep repeating them.

Keep repeating them.

Beautiful.

Keep going on guys.

Keep going on.

Keep going on.

Keep going on.

Keep going on.

Keep going on.

Don't stop.

Definitely attach the emotion or the feeling you have for that complaint.

Keep going on.

Keep going deeper.

Beautiful.

Last 30 seconds for you to complain guys.

Keep going on.

Keep going on.

Even if you're tired of saying one complaint again and again,

Keep going on.

Beautiful.

Keep going.

Keep going.

When we enter the stage two of silence,

I would request you to be seated for the stage two.

You could be sitting on a chair or you could be sitting on the floor.

If you were standing,

I would prefer you to be sitting on the floor so that you're not looking out for your chair.

And place both your palms on the floor.

Or if you're sitting on a chair,

Place both your palms on your knees.

And just enjoy your silence.

Gently breathe in and breathe out.

Place your hands and slowly start preparing yourself to come back.

Come back to the place where you're sitting.

Come back to your body.

Come back to your breath.

And once you feel complete,

Gently open your eyes.

Take your time when you come back.

There is no rush.

Take your time.

Breathe in and breathe out a few more times.

You're coming back after a short but a very deep session.

So take your time.

Once you feel complete,

Gently open your blindfolds.

And today I would like you to write down at least five complaints which you do it very often.

And I want you to ask yourself,

Why do you do that?

What is it in your hands that you can do about?

If you can do something about it,

Write down what exactly can you do something about it and go ahead and take your action.

And if you feel you can't do anything about it,

I want you to start your journey of making peace with it.

Accept it.

Be conscious of your day to day and the complaints,

If any,

You might make.

And ask yourself,

Why am I complaining?

And what can I do to take care of this?

Have a beautiful day ahead and I will see you tomorrow again.
