In life,

We often carry the weight of things.

Things that are beyond our control.

This creates stress and leaves us feeling stuck.

Peace comes when we focus on what we can change and let go of what we cannot.

In this practice,

We'll explore what's in your control,

What's not,

And how to release the rest.

So settle into a comfortable posture,

One that feels comfortable and grounding,

And allow the eyes to close gently or if you're in a busy place,

You can just soften your gaze and take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale slowly,

Allowing your body to relax and feel the weight of your body being supported.

Soften into the support and settle into stillness.

And now bring your attention to the breath.

Allow it to flow in and out effortlessly.

Feel the rise and fall of your chest.

The steadiness of a natural rhythm.

And feel the rise and fall of the abdomen.

So when we let go of controlling the breath,

We remind ourselves that some things take care of themselves.

We don't have to control everything.

So now bring to mind something that's been weighing on you.

It might be a worry,

A tough decision you have to make,

Or a situation that you're struggling to accept.

So once you've got that in mind,

Ask yourself,

Is this within my control?

And notice the answer that arises.

If it is within your control,

Focus on one small,

Meaningful step you can take.

And if it's beyond your control,

Gently imagine setting it down.

Like placing a heavy bag,

A rucksack down on the ground.

And see if you can come into a sense of lightness in the body as you release what you cannot change.

The lightness of acceptance.

Let's say this mantra,

A mantra for letting go.

So silently repeat it to yourself.

I focus on what I can control.

I release what I cannot.

I trust life to unfold as it will.

Let these words settle into your heart and connect with any sense of calm or clarity that they might bring up.

Trying to control the uncontrollable is an exhausting waste of time.

It's like trying to hold back the ocean.

When you release what you can't change,

You make space for freedom and flow.

Your energy is precious,

So use it where it matters most.

And so now take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale gently.

Feeling lighter,

If that's present,

Maybe more at ease.

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes softly and carry any sense of clarity or lightness with you.

And may you find peace in focusing on what you can do and letting go of the rest.

And in doing so,

Learning to trust the process of your own life.
