Just begin to take a moment to notice your breath.
There's nothing you need to do to it,
No need to change it,
But just bringing some mindfulness to observe how it is in this moment.
You might notice when you inhale and when you exhale,
The qualities of your breath,
Where you might feel your breath,
The nostrils,
The throat,
Chest,
Belly,
Or somewhere else.
We're going to begin to use a mantra.
A mantra is a phrase or just a syllable in some cases that has important meaning to us and it's repeated.
So we're going to use the mantra in English of connecting it with our breath.
So the word I on the inhale and M on the exhale,
A-M.
So as you inhale,
Just thinking to yourself,
I,
And as you exhale,
M.
I-M.
Continue this at your own pace,
Pace of your breath.
And now without overthinking it,
Think about a word or a phrase to complete this sentence.
I am blank.
It could be I am here,
I am peace,
I am enough.
Keep it simple,
Just one word or short phrase and try not to overthink it,
Just whatever first comes to mind.
And repeat that with your breath.
I on the inhale,
An M and your word on the exhale.
Take just a few more moments to continue your mantra.
Really helping it to manifest,
Making it real,
Making it present with the repetition.
One more time.
When you're ready,
Slowly release the repetition.
If your eyes are closed,
Slowly blinking them open.
Just taking a moment to observe and notice what you feel in your body,
Emotions,
Mind.
And I'm going to invite you to write your personal mantra down,
Your I am statement.
So if you want to take a moment in your journal or type it out,
Write it down and I find that writing it,
Putting it down on paper,
And for me personally,
Writing it with a pen or pencil versus typing,
That has an impact.
It helps kind of make it real,
Make it manifest,
Helps me remember it.
So write your personal I am statement down and we're going to really use this as our our sankalpa,
Which is a Sanskrit term for heartfelt desire,
Resolve our intention.
And I really encourage you to use this statement,
This mantra to maybe help guide your whole week ahead.
